Top Gear

Bloody farcical.

They are now using an aircraft hanger so that they can get even more hangers on turning up. I think that Craig said 650. Look at the opening sequence, they have lost sight of what the program was about, just obsessed with their own self conceived importance.

Fcuk off and get a life. Can anybody take the long git seriously any more, and as for his edited driving on a track, Gareth would piss on him.

So where did that come from?

Googling said it was Ben Collins, helmet comes off and it is Schumacher.

First time i've half watched it over the screen of the laptop.

As the first one in the new season it didn't really grab me
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Have to say this episode was Bollocks,

no chance is it Schumacher!! it was always said "was not an F1 driver"

Ben collins ticks all the boxes, even the interview with dutch tv, his accent matches the stigs!

Also, NO F*CKING VIDEO OF THE EVORA LAP????? what the hell??

And was it Shuey as the Stig in every episode, or was it another stitch up?

Not the best episode, but still better than 90% of the other rot on TV...

Shame they didn't show the Evora lap - But impressive that it was faster than a 911 / Cayman S.... (Slower than an Exige, but it ran on 'R' tyres, so I'd imagine the Evora would be faster if similarly shod...)

That FXX was awesome - Brake discs glowing away red under hard braking... 8)

Schumacher is not the Stig - It's just a joke, which I thought he was a good sport for playing along with...

(That FXX is his own car, isn't it? Guess that's why he was driving it...)

Wonder why he didn't do a lap in the reasonably priced car... Contractual, or scared he'd get shown up by Hamilton / Button / Mansell's times???

Of course Schumacher is not the Stig, what planet are you idiots on?

I quite enjoyed the programme, the "race" was classic ambitious but rubbish TG but still very watchable. Clarkson seemed to be thoroughly impressed with the Evora, I expected him to be dissapointed with the 'Powerrr' but good review nonetheless. Would like to have seen the lap but as they quickly skipped by, it's slower than an Exige, so not really going to be fascinating viewing.

I really enjoyed it. Perhaps made better by the fact that I was denied watching it live, by my darling 3.84-yr-old and 2.16-yr-old deciding that they would delay bedtime and the dropping off to sleep bit by at least 30 mins :-( So watched on iPlayer just now.

I love steam trains and got quite close to the Tornado recently on the North York Moors Railway, so the race had a special place for me. Always enjoy a ride on the East Coast main line too. Have also driven plenty of the A1 in my time so it was a laugh to see them dicking around on there.

I was immediately suspicious of who on earth was "The Stig" tonight when the FXX appeared. Whilst the car looks appalling, it sounds amazing and was clearly being *driven*. The unveiling thing, as hinted by Craig in his thread, was actually very funny. You have to remember this is essentially an entertainment show, not a factual or hard-core car-nut programme.

The short Evora segment was good, I'm sure it'll get another outing when Lotus PR get working on the BBC and then indeed The Stig will get his hands on it. Which of SE's tame racing drivers do you think TG should hire to pilot it?!?!?
