Excellent, June 2011 here I come

I probably could have done some myself, would have had to be in good time though due to the elbow surgery I had, can't do much with the left arm, but that would have meant the car was in pieces for Tut Towers.

There is a lot of work to be done, I suppose now that this has been done I can learn to do the easier parts bit by bit. The other problem for me is it is my only car, and I am too young for a courtesy car or anything so having another run around while the car is being repaired is a problem in itself.

There are a number of factors that limit the options but since work can now be done piece by piece it should be easy enough to maintain.

Blimey that is a big bill.

A mate of mine in Ellon has his own Garage (just down from Overton) and is very reputable, so if you need any work done in the future then give me a shout and I will pass across his details.

He is currently refurbing my mates Audi RS4, the mate he bought it off has left him with a pretty big bill to get it tip top (£5k bill so far and counting), due to Audi parts costs.

It's just preparing you for Lotus ownership, i've had bills like that twice with mine.

Ok, so the first ended with the car having different belts, clutch, engine and suspension in it, and the 2nd made it a different colour

I have heard that a good service (by specialist) cost because it is very important to have a lot of special stuff done to any TT is needed to keep it in good nick.

ouch....i do like audis ...but all the grief lotus owners seem to have with audis makes me wonder if a lotus and audi just dont mix:-(

Imagine the ownership prospect of a 8 year old Q7, RS model or a TT with the new fangdangle magnetic suspension, I'm thinking money pit here that could have the potential to bankrupt the average owner After spending £1500 on suspension for my 52 plate A4 Avant (75k miles) only last week I'm still not convinced all is well so it's going back to them on Monday

Well three days after receiving the car back from this massive service my clutch master cylinder seems to have gone. Broke down on Friday 1/4 mile outside my work and then spent 3 hours waiting for recovery so the car could be moved a couple of hundred metres up the road to a garage who would have diagnosed the problem that day, had the AA been there within the hour as they originally promised.

It's loody impossible to decide when you're just throwing good money after bad. I spent 2K in 6 months on my last Scooby before trading it - should've traded earlier - but that's easy to say with the benfit of hindsight. Like other folk have said, seems to happen to almost everyone at some stage.
