Yep racing at Crimond. Won my first race by over half a lap, and started lapping the field before it finished. Problem was you have to wear full race gear including shoes, and I slipped mine off on the grid. Did not realise that the winner had to pull into the centre of the track, have his photo shots, then go for a victory lap around the track on a pick up waving a chequered flag. Got out of the car barefooted in front of the Race Marshaller who was not amused.

Second race I was further back on the grid and was boxed in by two slower cars and had to watch the rest go by on the outside, before I could get out. Then started picking them off until I was third and ready to overtake the other two, passed the second who then decided not to brake into the corner, and smashed my rear wing, which split open and went up and over the back wheel jamming it up. The Marshals and spectators said that he had driven into me intentionally, so he was sent packing, but no great consolation. We took the wheel off and the wing snapped back into position so does not affect the driving, just looks a mess.

I was going to go back tomorrow for the final race and to get my cup, but it had made a mess of my tyres which had melted, were a few weeks old and would have seen me through TT with no problem, but probably not now. Enjoyed it though as it was the first time that I had raced from a grid plus no restrictions on overtaking. Just a pity we had to have a prick on track with an inferiority complex.

Aching like buggery today, even bruised, which is ridiculous.

As it is a small oval you do not actually spend much time on track, but it must have been the continous turning and higher G forces than on a real track. Enjoyed beating the Champion from the last two years though, but will not be doing it again.

Hi Scott, thanks for the pic, but did not realise that you were a member of Scottish_Elises.

Do you have a photo of the wing over the back wheel?

Cheers

Hey tut,

It wasn't myself who was up although I was wanting to make it there for the munster weekend. It was an ex girlyfriend of mine who had been out as pax with you a couple of years ago, so knows who you are. She raced in the ladies race on the day too 3rd apparently (bugger me). I'll nudge her in the morning to see what other photo's she's got. There'll be a DVD of all the racing, usually out on a wednesday following the weekend. EP Video I'd think http://www.epvideo.co.uk I'll confirm that tomorrow too though as I'm not sure if eddie covers crimond.

Glad you enjoyed your day though.

Scott
