340R question

Post by deano15482 » Sat Aug 05, 2006 12:16 pm

after being out in cammy's 340R at knockhill i have become a tad obsessed with them.
is it possible to retro fit a roof on them? a removable one of course.
at the moment i don't have a garage so any car i get will be kept outside that i why i'm asking.
if its not possible then i'llstill be on course with Plan Exige :D

Reverie http://www.reverie.ltd.uk/en/about/340r_dev.php have developed a roof.

But its expensive, and looks a bit odd.

Couldnt leave a 340r outside in my opinion, definately a second car.

ScottyC keeps his outside I think but as J said the only roof is the £5k+ reverie one. Best to stick with the Exige plan IMO.

For 5k you could build a garage to keep it in rather than a strange looking roof.

Dean,

To be totally honest I would stick with buying an Exige in your position. The 340R is stricktly a second car and is good for taking out for a blast now and again or taking to the track. I think if i had to use the car on a regular basis I would soon get fed up of it.
You will most definitely get more use from an exige and I'm sure I will be more than happy to take you out in mine if your at the track as you were such a good passenger. Mind you I did see you braking for me a few times going into turn 1

You're debating between 340R and Exige so how about you consider another car that might meet the criteria? It's a lightweight 2 seater, similar performance but with a removable roof. It's called....

.... the Lotus Elise :P

Ah, but theres elises like the 160 plans are selling for 14.5k that I would far rather own than a 16-17k potentially sheddy 30k+mile s1 exige. Unless its a looks thing.

wanted an exige since 2000.just prefer exiges TBH...personal taste.
not really fan of s1 elise looks, the exige looks more purposeful

These are always forgotten but the Elise Sport 190 - has the VHPD engine and Exige suspension/tyres etc... plus added lightness :) and they look cool as fcuk with those OZ wheels
