Who is good for standard lukewarm hatches these days?

A-plan who previously insured the Pug 1.9td for ~£200 third party ( and I thought that was a rip off) wanted £500 for the A3 still third party  They thought that was good value for money, till I pointed out the Exige fully comp with trackday cover was £100 cheaper.

Quick confused.com came out with Bell at £300, anything else worth a try?

Kenny, I would try fully comp - apparently there is very little difference and if you are paying decent wedge you might as well be fully protected.

£300 fully comp with Chris Knott, might have got it cheaper if I shopped around more but couldn't be arsed spending all afternoon on the phone.

CCI just blew everyone out of the water price wise for my renewal.

Fully comp, protected NCB, with my Wife on the policy, parked in the drive, 7.5k miles, 4 days track cover...loads of other stuff. £330 all in...chuffed as the nearest alternative was over a hundred quid away. :thumbsup :thumbsup for Kim at CCI.

Interesting that Chris Knott said they only had a policy that started at £400 without track cover, Richard Eggar (REIS) was £500 before track cover...glad I phoned CCI now. :D

The s160 is in Michelles name and we just got the renewal through, although staying in a small town in the NE she only has 3 YNCB and has me on the policy with 5 track days i think it is .... £240.

to say I was shocked is an understatment

Oh also with CCI

Difficult one because if they price match they will want to see proof of quotes anyway, I normally would say I have had 'a considerably cheaper quote' or round it down a bit and say 'nearly £30 cheaper' when its closer to £20. Unless of course they are way off the mark then you tell them exactly where they need to be to get the business.

Another :thumbsup for Kim at CCI. £260 for me and Mrs T includes 6 track days, Chris Knott and the rest were way over £400.

Yup just read through my policy and the 'Lotus Scheme' includes 6 days not four, 2 of which can be european and you can more track days for a small fee.

CCI quoted me £1139.97 with a 5000 mile limit :-o
Bell £983 with no track days.
Adrian Flux £819 unlimited mileage and no track days.

Matt @ Henderson Taylor just called me back - £720 including 6 track days, I almost bit his arm off. Had to take the missus off it as she was adding another £120 due to fact she's only 26, I'll add her back on as part of her birthday ( and get an earful for it). She's driven it 300 yards in the last year.

All mods noted, 27 year old but still viewed as an inexperienced driver due to 1 years NCB and only 3 year license.
