A great find, Graeme. Only watched as far as the Elan review...now that IS a review!!...and the excitement over anti-theft alarm for Sierras required me to switch off immediately

Mate of mine has one of these in Ferrari red. Sub 1000kg, surprisingly Elise like to drive, bulletproof mechanicals, 35-40mpg and easy on brakes, tyres. Great aircon

He tells me you can reliably turbocharge them to 220bhp for £2.5k as well

Those MR2's were featured in EVO's 'no cost' motoring article this month. Appear to be quite highly rated... more than I had ever thought.

No boot, so not much use for Frolics especially as Ed and Tom will be in it

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

Yep - can remember looking at one and could not believe that you could have less space than the S1 Elise I had at the time.
If I remember correctly the only luggage space is behind the rear seats where there are 2 plastic lids which you would be lucky to fit 2 shoe boxes in.

Chris has been on a couple of euro trips in his so it must have luggage space of some sort although I haven't seen it myself. Happy to ask or get pictures if required.

That might not actually be a bad shout. All we need is someone to carry the helmets for us........cough
You can pick one up for less than 3k. Has anyone driven one?
Ed, go and test drive one

Yep, had a short of a friend's import. Rather good on the road, no idea about track. Absolutely no luggage space.

I have driven my friends car a few times on the road and rather liked it. Think less focused, more comfortable, better built Elise

I ran one for 2 years. It's the only car I miss owning today. Rated it much higher than the VX220, but not as good as the elise. Needs a few mods like stiffer springs and the early ones need the chassis bracing upgraded - both cheap as chips to do. They cost f*ck all to run, the brakes were a stand out feature for me (low mass and decent celica stoppers = pin sharp braking) and was a royal hoot.
I want one for a trackday car, I have already told myself that will be my present for when I leave Brum
Oh, and you're better off supercharging them to 240bhp

I have no idea how they drive but they are so bland - a major disappointment after the earlier mini Ferrari looks of its predecessor
