Maybe just as well he can't fly because of the Ash; he'd have been very disappointed to find an empty Barcelona track.

Latest advice from the CAA has deemed Aberdeen Airport will become clear from high density ash from 13:00 hours local time onwards. As such operations can resume from that point. We expect there to still be considerable delays and cancellations throughout the day, as the airlines operations take time to recover.

CHC may also fly this afternoon, although they did send out an initial statement saying all flights were cancelled - so this may change.

I landed at Edin at about 2150 last night in a wee 80 seater Aer Fungus propeller plane from Dublin. Landing was er ...interesting  . Supposed to be the 1810  but as well as the winds, airspace around Dublin was shut down to let Obama head to the UK early. Spent longer sitting on a plane going nowhere yesterday than I did actually flying.

Watching the Chinooks hovering around the airport perimeter and seeing AirForce One was the only marginal relief from boredum/frustration.

Flight down to London tomorrow at 4pm, will make a call tomorrow morning, but suspect the backlog will be clear by then... It is however sadly with Sleazyjet, so perhaps not. If there is any doubt, i'll be training it from Dunders!

I've got a 5pm flight to Leeds. It sounds like Aberdeen airports flying again so I might be in luck. The alternatives dont look very attractive - trains up this way are still in a mess so it could be a long drive tonight

My 2 day meeting in the Netherlands was cancelled this morning - my flight was showing OK, but KLM pulled the plug on them all by 09:00.

Never mind :damnfunny

As expected this morning's flight from edi was canceled later last night. Managed to reschedule from heathrow so drove a one way hire car down through the night and now waiting on the flight which is showing on time.

Indy here we come.

Good luck Dario!

My parents were due to come home from Tenerife on Tuesday; at the airport they were told they'd be going to Manchester; they changed their tickets for next Tue, and went back to their house..... the joys of being retired!

Was in Holland for a training course Mon to Friday so was delighted to see the ash cloud come and go in between, and that flights were operating as normal............except the retards at Schipol never bothered to load my (nor about 7others) bag onto the plane.

Had to laugh at the "service desk" in Abz airport, the chap kept calling the baggage delayed......I said, no, its missing, its only classed as delayed if you find the thing and actually get it back to me.

Add that onto being ill since wed night really topped off the week.
