This was my view of the car coming towards me. Some people have commented that I don't seem to react very quickly, but in reality I was waiting to see which way the car went before jumping out of the way. The few cars that I've seen go off there in the past, have followed the camber of the slope and ended up stopping in the grassy area that I jumped to. Finlay's car instead skimmed the surface and went pretty much straight on. Can't deny that it wasn't very close though, and won't be standing there again in the future!

Bloody hell, hope it was not a Lotus engineer that designed that lot otherwise he has no chance.

On a serious note, it is fantastic what they can achieve nowadays, and I bet his body will be in better nick than mine after recovery.

Brilliant clip John especially in slow motion, bet you never thought that you could move that quickly.

Poor form from the driver though, he should have carried on as if he was parking in the garage and got loads of kudos.

Scotty, I have a short video clip of the rescue guys chopping eric's car to get him out if he wants it (and no, it's not sick as there is no view of Eric in the car as the rescue guys are all round him with the cutters)

Scotty kindly came round to see me earlier ... actually, I wonder if he doesn't really care about me and actually just comes to pet the dog ;)

Anyway, the big fella mentioned this post so here I am to say hi.

First of all, thanks for all the kind thoughts. It really does mean a lot. 8)

Today is twelve weeks since the event.

I'm currently at home and, if I could, I'd be climbing the walls. It's a case of cabin fever plus groundhog day ... x10.

I'm also concerned that Steph may murder me soon ... although she'll be totally justified if she does. :blackeye

I'm still in a wheelchair all the time but expect to start "intensive" physio next week ... and see what the world looks like from 173cm for the first time in a while.

This physio is apparently going to be seriously hard work but I can't wait ... bring it on! It'll be residential at Woodend, certainly for the first while.

I have no clue as to the cause of the accident. It's a hill I've driven up maybe 150 times and I'll drive it again.

Current plan is that I'll be out in a new single seater during 2012 but not working for a significant amount of time means that I'll have to see how the finances are.

I'll PM you.

Thanks again and I'll no doubt catch up with some of you before too long.

Cheers,

Eric :)
