Re: FRENCH FROLIC 10 - 21/8 to 28/8
Wouldn't say I was getting hung up on it, and certainly wouldn't avoid buying it Campbell, just a thought before i call the men in masks whether it is cheaper for a member or not!

LOL, sorry Dave, didn't mean to imply you were being picky
Quite right to shop around...main thing I'd go with is quality of service, based on feedback from others, if you can find it in time...Tut might know, LOL!

Depends how long you're going but worth checking out AA annual policies too. Especially if you intend going to Europe again within the year.
I've found the 2-11 has AA 'Lotus Assistance' which covers Europe too, free for 2 years (yet to read the small print tho').

Your van must be on the borderline of 2m high? (Rangie should be under, drop the suspension for peages...Scotty C wrote:I had some scary charges last yearalicrozier wrote:Is the trailer taller than 2m? would put you on the higher Peage rates...Andy G wrote: Racepod...
I guess the double trailer would have been over 2m...single would then have been 50% cheaper.

I should have the same but seem to have lost the details....alicrozier wrote:Depends how long you're going but worth checking out AA annual policies too. Especially if you intend going to Europe again within the year.

It was fine earlier this year - £45 from the way north from Toms place - which was what the guide book estimated for a car
The Rangie is 1.9m in road mode, and the trailer is pretty much exactly the same height

Cool, hate to have you letting the tyres down to sneak under.Andy G wrote:It was fine earlier this year - £45 from the way north from Toms place - which was what the guide book estimated for a carThe Rangie is 1.9m in road mode, and the trailer is pretty much exactly the same height
The peages have some kind of height scanner to automatically detect if you're over 2m and ping you for the higher rate. Supposedly it can tell the difference between a 'tall' vehicle/trailer/caravan and a normal car with say roofbox or bike on top...

I was £95 with P&L. I'm not sure when I'm coming back so I tagged on a few extra days just in case.Rag_It wrote:Was it £88 to tag it onto your membership you have just now? Seems expensive, hopefully a discount for existing customers...hendeg wrote:I'm with AA so just tagged it on.

Quidco are doing £20-£40 cash back on RAC European breakdown policies just now too.

Official figure is 145 so we'll have to try and find out.Scotty C wrote:can it do 150mph, frolic wont be the same without a proper fly byBigD wrote:If only, no, much more sensible boring and slow.robin wrote:Ginetta?![]()

Re: FRENCH FROLIC 10 - 21/8 to 28/8
i have an yearly euro AA cover that i took out a couple of years ago. I called them up as i had the van and trailer on it last year, they have just given me a £27 credit as i only have the 211 on it now.
Think its about £120 p&l, I will have to go to spa/ring before the year is out to get my money's worth though.
