Re: geo / tracking
Bet it's toeing out (or at least not toeing in enough) on the front right.
have you seen the alignment print out? most modern kit gives you a printed before and after with the settings and tolerences.
If the alignment does turn out to be correct, could be a duff tyre though; get them to swap the tyres front to back and see what happens.

Mair throttle, less brake
Re: geo / tracking
didnt get a print out. not sure their equipment does that. will need to go to someone proper.
CLCM never used to get a great recommendation - take it things have changed there?
might head down to Ed and visit a m8 and slaver of the nice lotus

Re: geo / tracking
I use Ladybank tyres for tracking. They have a hunter allignment machine(same type that Prodrive use). I'm pretty sure they are offering a free allignment check at the moment, and that will give you a print out with all the measurments. When I bought my VX from the dealer the steering was out on the test drive. Asked them to sort that before collection but was still out when I got the car. Went to Ladybank Tyres and the fronts were pointing in the right direction, just the wheel was off centre. However the back was way out so I just got them to sort it there and then.
Ask for John if you give them a call. As said before they have a branch in Blairgowrie and Perth(both Target tyres).

Re: geo / tracking
www.alignmycar.co.uk - where to find hunter alignment machines.
will look to use ladybank, cheers for that.
however - now got the winter tyres on, and so far the car seems to behaving itself.
will see how it is over the next couple days, testing on the same roads as before.

For avoidance of doubt...where did you pick this up from?PhilA wrote: CLCM never used to get a great recommendation - take it things have changed there?
CLCM have been "on the money" since ever I can remember, and that's around 10 years or more...poss mistaken identity?

Well I had a bad experience and I'm sure I remember others too, though it was a good few years ago. They made a mess of the geo on my Elise and gave it back to me with a steering wheel about 45 degrees out so it had to go back, which is a right pain in the arse when it's about 70 miles away.campbell wrote:For avoidance of doubt...where did you pick this up from?PhilA wrote: CLCM never used to get a great recommendation - take it things have changed there?

Edited to add: I certainly wouldn't bother driving all the way from Dundee to there when there are other options much closer to home.
Re: geo / tracking
Fair enough Simon, seems mistakes can always happen. And yes it's PITA if you are making a long round trip. Just wanted to be clear that, unless I'm mistaken, there is a long run of strong feedback for CLCM albeit from the Edinburger brigade. Just happen to be Murray's subbie of choice for such work too but that is perhaps by the by.

Re: geo / tracking
car now goes straight!!
went to pro-grip http://www.pro-grip.org.uk.
John there is a friendly guy, who knows his stuff.
He has a hunter machine.
The Toe was out for the front-right and the rear-left. Cant remember which way, will look at lunch.
Drives much better now, feels like less going on with the car. Wasnt out by much tho, and the car felt better when i put on winter tyres. I think the summers that came with it had a duff tyre.
Will be mentioning it to the dealer.
