Re: The shed, it lives, sort of...
it was the pax side, the shorter driveshaft. Mine did it a few times in the first week until the issue was highlighted, then didnt do it for the next 40k miles.
Yes, the circlip i mean is just on the end of the driveshaft, on the splined shaft, that goes into the gearbox. Thats what holds it in the gearbox, and it needed to be slightly bigger due to the cv angles (iirc). Check if the inner cv is fully clicked 'home' first.

Re: The shed, it lives, sort of...
the seal was fine on mine, it was just that when you went over a bump in the road and the suspension unloaded, the driveshaft would pop out but not enough for you to lose drive. It did this in the first week post convertion, stu pollock diagnosed it, sinclaires spoke to the driveshaft manufacturer (GKN??) and the slightly larger diameter circlip was reccomended. Mine never did it again. Maybe give Wayne a call and ask.
Re: The shed, it lives, sort of...
That shaft has been fully rebuilt as the outer cv was knackered, will have a looksee and then speak to Wayne as required

Re: The shed, it lives, sort of...
It shouldnt matter if the shaft has been rebuilt, unless you mean it has a new circlip on it?? i.e i dont mean the shaft pulling out of the cv joint, i mean the whole shebang popping out of the gearbox. Apologies if we're talking about the same thing, i'm not the most technicalfoz01 wrote:That shaft has been fully rebuilt

Re: The shed, it lives, sort of...

Great results. Would love to have a good look at the conversion sometime. Did you convert it yourself ? Ballpark figure on costs?
Just our of interest of course

Costs, I have kept a spreadsheet but I have done loads more over and above the charging though
its a scary number and I saved a lot importing the charger from the USA
