TVR T350. Got 255/35/18 going on the rear which should give plenty of grip

Re: Federal 595 RS-R Tyres
Embarrassed to say I've done zero miles on them.
Of on a euro thrash beginning of May so will be using them for that.

Re: Federal 595 RS-R Tyres
I've put a pair of these on the rear of the Exige S2.
I upsized to 235/45/17 as the tyre edge profile has a greater radius, thus actually the same tread width appears to be touching the road as the A048's.
The fronts still have std A048 and I've got to say 'on the road' I can't feel any difference.
At £115 each for Exige rears from Camskill, it's got to be worth considering - certainly for road use. Track handling - TBA (but these are the Mazda 5 racing series regulation tyre, as if that's anything to go by ??)

Appreciate the feedback. My car so far has been totally road use anyway so sounds like they're worth a punt. I'll be putting 235/45/17 on mine too.
What sort of life are you getting out of them?

Re: Federal 595 RS-R Tyres
I am watching this thread with a great deal of interest as I have to put boots on plenty of cars.

About 200miles thus far, so a bit early to tell.SAJ wrote:Thanks.Parko wrote:I've put a pair of these on the rear of the Exige S2.

Just found the 235/45/17 at £95 each with free delivery --> http://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre-details/fe ... 5-r17-94-w
Which is about £20 per tyre cheaper than I paid

Re: Federal 595 RS-R Tyres
Any further updates on these tyres. I'll be replacing mine in the next month or two.
I have two choices, either replace the rear R1Rs, £153.40 x 2 = £306.80 or replace all four tyres with RSRs at £344.00 and then rear replacements will only be £180 the year after.
I have no issues with the R1Rs but if I can get similar performance from the RSRs then it is a no brainer.

Re: Federal 595 RS-R Tyres
I don't think you'll be disappointed against R1R's Saj, I've only done about 600 miles on mine as the rad blew near Strassbourg and it had to be recovered home but they have more grip than anyone needs on the road and don't seem bothered by standing water.
I'd strongly consider AD08's if it's mainly road use tho as they come with 8mm Vs 5mm.

Re: Federal 595 RS-R Tyres
Thanks Mikem.
I actually ordered them the other day so should be here next week. I plan to get them on the car just before I do a Walshy day at Blyton Park, most likely at the start of July.

Re: Federal 595 RS-R Tyres
Just seen this thread. Went for RS-R's my self about 6 weeks ago on the VX, and so far I've been pretty impressed! Wet weather traction has been good, although being a bit too eager on the throttle will break traction of course, and I have found them relatively progressive. A bit heavier than R888's that I had, but they were in slightly smaller sizes. Not that I'd probably notice anyway!
I went for 205/50/16 fronts and 235/45/17 rear, mainly as they come with 6.5mm tread compared to 5.3mm for the 225/45/17..
Mytyres seem to do the best deals on these. I paid £400 all in including delivery and fitting / balancing.
Will be 'interesting' to see how they cope with colder weather, although I think I'll buy a back-up set of wheels / tyres for that time of year..
Cheers,
Ross

Re: Federal 595 RS-R Tyres
I have still to put mine on the car, I might try and do it this weekend if I get a chance. Bought mine from mytyres and got the full set in the same sizes as you for £344.00 all in as I noticed the price seems to change all the time and £44 was the cheapest i'd ever seen them go for.Rosssco wrote:Just seen this thread. SAJ, yep £344 was what I paid too. Fitting was about £13.50 per tyre (which you can select the option of when buying online)
