There was some comedy cr*p driving from a few, but not particularly dangerous or aggressive...I'd have been happy to drive the S(hed)2000 last night, and was sorely tempted to go sign on, were I not ker-knacked having just got back on dry land.
These comments are common place at a lot of the events, probably more so hot hatch. Most amusing. I dropped past when the ford fair was on and Charlie Shaw was going up the main straight in his harvey gibb cosworth engined carbon focus and the gentleman next to me: "hawl, think that wan is turbo'd man". He was doing in excess of 140mph up the hill and I think hits 155 on the straight...
I believe his good friends response: "think sae man".
In what way was it 'comedy crap'? Lines mainly?

The driving std's seemed lower for some last night than on the 21st. The corsa nearly went into the back of the 7 at Clarks, just seemed too impatient and was also overtaking on both sides. Entertaining to watch but I wouldn't go on track with him.

Was it the blue corsa? I believe one got banned from trackscotland and one was very aggressive when I was on the first reverse trackday (not that there are any rules with aggressiveness that I know of?)

If someone needs rules to be told what's too aggressive on a trackday, then they need kicked off...

Really? Quite a few were inches from my bumpers as I was a little slower up duffis and I just thought I needed a serious dose on MTFU...
I just thought the consensus was 'use your brain', something that some lack with 'any old side' of overtaking?

What I meant was - if there someone needs to be told they are being too aggressive, they should never make it on in the first place. Trackdays are not the place for driving inches off of others (unless it's two consenting adults having some fun) and as far as I was aware, the rules on overtakes were written in stone at KH. If you're saying that this HH night was drivers overtaking everywhere and people getting too close, then I stand by my comments about them being ones to avoid...

Also, KH used to let some club nights overtake either side - there isn't that option now, so they must have decided it's too dangerous. Wonder what makes the Ned nights any different?

I did see one of the marshals on the radio after a couple of incidents but nothing seemed to come of it. I'm only talking about corsa guy, the rest seemed well behaved.

Yeah a certain very experienced chap did it to me who is an ex racing driver and very involved at the circuit, I did not mind as I know him but it was a bit silly since he knew I was pretty green. This happened on the first reverse night - Knockhill organised. Apart from that, I found the standards not an issue. It seems like HH is worth avoiding and I was right to do so as seems to be a few more bellends frequenting these.

Corsa also did it as did a 205 with a bodykit who later had his all go all over the underside of his bonnet and could not finish the session.

Sorry, I thought for a minute you were meaning I shouldn't be there as it sounded like I did not know 'aggressiveness' rules :)

Will be easy enough to check if this is the same car that is banned from TS (there is a video of the incident on their forum). I believe Adam posted on TS the PM's between them and he didn't think overtaking on the wrong side was an issue...

It's easy to be critic when you're standing behind a barrier watching, but I couldn't help but notice that some attempted to quell power understeer by applying more power out of the hairpin, and were also taking very unusual lines, as well as bludgeoning down every straight at max attack and almost losing the car under heavy braking. :)

The blue Corsa was mostly inches from the Nova saloon's rear bumper, but I guess they must have known each other and were having a bit of fun...

x3 red flags in the hour I was there... How does this compare to other tracknights?

I think the red flags were for the session to end. There were 2 groups again like last week.

yes, red flag is 'session over'

lou, if you are referring to being 'chucked off' I didn't see any black flags for poor driving so clearly marshals thought the 2inch caper was 'ok'

Why do you keep calling people with cheap cars Neds Shug? I have already asked politely in this thread that you stop.
Quote, Shug "Don't want to get all moderator on this, but similarly don't want to see this descending into angry retorts. Sorry guys, but can we steer clear of ridicule"

I take it your insults dont count? As a mod I feel you should be above using social stereotypes no matter how popular with they are with the SE gentry. I am working class, I go to hot hatch days I drive a 205 so please stop insulting me. I could insult you back but im choosing not to.

Okay, I apologise if you've taken offence. None was intended.

It has precisely nothing to do with the value of the car, more the attitude of the driver. You are misunderstanding me and for that I'm sorry. Some of the most fun I've ever had is in a cheap MK1 Mini and you could never accuse me of being a car snob with some of the sh*t I've owned. Also, I'm about as far from SE "Gentry" as you'll find - if you knew me, you'd understand the ridiculousness of this comment.

I call *some* of the drivers on Hot Hatch nights neds, because they are. Not because they drive a hatchback, not because their car is less expensive than anyone else's, but because their behaviour is that of the social strata I'd call "neds". Not caring about other people, their possessions or safety. I have been on these days in the dim and distant past and seen driving that would turn your blood cold.

I'm sorry, you have no reason to get wound up at me, you've misunderstood me.
