Sorry to ask an obvious question but do we know what the quality is like?
My limited experience is that the money you spend on tools the better/longer lasting/less likely to chew your nuts and bolts (way hay!!!) they are.

Basically you usually get what you pay for.

You do indeed get what you pay for
as a guide price these items will be x2.5 in the shop of your choice.
The cost saving is in the low cost transport and lack of middle men and not in the quality. I can show you a jack if you wish.

I'll second these comments

I've seen a jack and wished I'd got one, so when this second batch was announced, jumped at it :D

On the impact guns: "So we need 2150 to get them at that price! "
Do you really think they'll get over 2000 orders for them seeing as there's currently only 187 orders!?
And what happens to your money if there's not enough orders?

As I'm the only one to know Norman, I'll guarantee it'll be fine with the funds.

The reason the bulk buy evolved to include jacks and spanners was that it was necessary to fill a container on the ship.

If you are at all worried then don't buy! I trust him and there's very few people I'd say that about.

Fair enough, it just seems such an unlikely number to achieve for the impact wrenches that it's never going to happen at that price. The jacks are a different story as it says 100-200 needed.

Simon, this offer originated on blatchat, but at Norman's request has been circulated around many other fora (ooh get me!), from Rolls Royce to farking Yugo for all I know

So, it must be reaching a HUUUGA audience and therefore has a fair chance of getting big numbers

Sorry Simon I should have explained better that it's because there would never be enough requests for wrenches that he nearly cancelled the bulk buy and then added in the jacks and spanners in place of all the wrenches to fill the container.

You are of course correct that he couldn't get a container full of wrenches.

But he has arranged the current deal on the basis of everyone that requested items and at those prices posted. Last time I paid for a number of jacks myself to save everyone the worries and I can do so again if it puts your mind at ease.

Does that mean there is going to be a jack&spanners run to go collect them all and bring them north of the border. Overnight? I suspect we may need to take an engine or two to Scholar en route ... they are out in East Anglia or somewhere like that IIRC :-) We can take the bus if you like ... I might even order a jack, just so there's a proper reason to go :-)

Cheers,
Robin

I'm the last person that should be doing anything mechanical (ain't got a clue!), but was thinking a jack would probably be handy, so might put my name down for one.

Would I have any use for the impact wrench or spanner set if I'm not really planning on doing stuff to the car myself except for basic maintenace?

Cheers,
