CCI renewal
Re: CCI renewal
My existing insurer quoted £359.99 for renewal due at the end of the month, phoned to advise of 3 points/£60 for SP30 and it went to £549 !!!!!
So much for my belief that 3 points dont make any difference and everyone has them these days

It's only 300-ish - probably was 320 or something - just cannot remember.
What's irksome is that I pay <200 for the bus and (as anyone who's been in it with me knows) I'm probably more of a risk and certainly it will do more damage on impact!
Cheers,
Robin

Re: CCI renewal
I too was under that impression - in fact (all be it about 5 years ago) when I last had points added, and mentioned it to my insurer the guy's response was "SP30, 3 points, everyone has that - makes no difference", and sure enough it did not make a noticeable difference. I guess nowadays they are trying to get every penny they can, so will hit you with higher premium whenever they get the chance.j2 lot wrote:My existing insurer quoted £359.99 for renewal due at the end of the month, phoned to advise of 3 points/£60 for SP30 and it went to £549 !!!!!

Re: CCI renewal
Just for info.
59 plate Exige 240PP. CCI quoted £880 for me and the Missus with 6 trackdays and £1000 excess in addition to the standard £750. REIS was £650 for 4 trackdays and £3000 excess. Churchill were £300 but no track days. Best individual trackday quote I could get the for Exige was £250 per day with 10% (£3000 ish) excess. As I will do between 2 and 4 trackdays per annum went with REIS.
Insurance is a pain but I could not go on track without it. Crashing is not a worry but fire is. Might be difficult to claim for same on standard insurance as getting burn out ally and plastic to Kinross services would be tricky

Re: CCI renewal
2nd year with Admiral and impressed so far. Minimal hike in renewal in March there (no claims made etc) so stuck with them on a multi-car.
Processing of claim for deer assault on Skoda was astoundingly good. They chased me for my repairer quote! Authorised work really fast, settled the bill with repairer really fast (I believe that can be a REAL issue for these guys), and phoned me last week to check all was well and could they close the file.
Proof of pudding will of course be next March but so far so good. Just a short testimonial for the other end of the insurance scenario really. The one that counts.

Re: CCI renewal
Got mine through from CCI and its gone up £80 to £320. Sounds like a pretty standard increase by what's been said here.

Re: CCI renewal
My CCI renewal came through; £489 which is quite a bit up from previous. I gave them a call and had a chat about things. Aviva are making changes to their policies, as Woody mentioned, commuting puts the premium up. They have also changed the costs regarding mileage. I was on unlimited mileage and had commuting cover - although I never commute in the elise. Taken my mileage to a 6K limit (based on the past couple of years of use) and taken commuting off, and now its £312 - that's more like it!
