Re: Bus lane fines :-(
Not for my particular fine ... possibly elsewhere that's true ... mine is £60 if paid within 28 days or £90 otherwise.

Re: Bus lane fines :-(
Meanwhile I re-read the poorly worded "document" I received from the bus lane enforcement and found that as Dom suggested I only owed £30 if paid within 14 days, £60 within 28 and thereafter £90.
If you decide to challenge then you agree to pay £60 if you lose.
Cheers,
Robin

Poorly worded, or did not say it on the first line lol

Sorry, I remembered Dom saying it, but if you said it first then you were both right and you get a gold star for saying it firstMike Scib wrote:My name is Mikerobin wrote:as Dom suggested I only owed £30 if paid within 14 days,

It doesn't say £30 in the first line of my letter, though, if that's what you meant!

Frankly you are very fortunate, that due to our lax laws applied to cases like this, you get away with a pathetic £30 fine.
You could have well have been holding up a busload of good citizens on their way to the Unemployment Office recently arrive from the Eastern Bloc, to collect their well earned social benefits.
In the good old days this would have been a hanging offence.

Tut, these days they use bank transfers to pay the benefits and if they need to go to the office they go in horse and cart

I am actually allowed in bus lanes to drop off or pick up with the Blue Badge, but have never had to use it.

Bus Lanes?
I use them on the bike all the time, never had any problems, no idea if it's legal or not, and to be quite frank I couldn't give a toss if its not

The ones in Aberdeen are the old type mini Gatso types which get you from the front, so bikes would be safe. However last month they started fitting 30 new ones which I presume are digital and would work in either direction.
I also read that they are fitted in the back of some buses, so Big Brother is alive and well.
