Re: Back to the beginning, with Pics
I built an NSR500 two stroke replica bike, laggy as hell in the same way a boosted BT motor is. You just have to learn to ride/drive differently. Bonkers in the powerband it was...
I wondered if theres anyone here done the Audi conversion that wouldn't mind having a chat? I've bought a motor and box and gona use a GT3071, new rods valves etc It seems Emerald are the choice ecu. Is there a respected tuner/dyno in central region with emerald experience?
My 111s S2 is in a sad way after being kept outside under a cover for the past 3 years. Paintwork destroyed, osmosis..I've got some work to do..

I just about finished wiring in my emerald today. It's not too big a deal just takes time, I'd be happy to let you know what's needed in terms of what sensors to use etc.dov wrote:I built an NSR500 two stroke replica bike, laggy as hell in the same way a boosted BT motor is. As regards mapping down central way I'm not sure though.

Thank Craig, waiting on a replacement motor, my AGU turned out to be an APU..Thanks very much for the offer of help with the Emerald btw. Does the ecu use the stock N75 sensor or something custom for boost control?

Re: Back to the beginning, with Pics
Yes Im using the N75 on one of the Aux pins. Just feed it live from the same coil/injector circuit and the emerald controls it on the earth line. Very easy as thewires are not directional just PWM. I assume its going to be okay but Ive friends still using it at over 500bhp so fairly confident.dov wrote:Thank Craig, waiting on a replacement motor, my AGU turned out to be an APU..Thanks very much for the offer of help with the Emerald btw. APU small port I assume? So you going to run a complete AGU head and block but built?

Re: Back to the beginning, with Pics
Yes full AGU motor, stock pistons, new shells seals ect and rings with forged rods, supertech EX valves... I'm aiming to get the motor done within a few weeks. Looking for turbo atmo.. 3071 mid range A/R is what I'm looking at... I still need shafts. I spoke with PSR? but they've not returned my call as yet.
Wiring N75 sounds ok, thx for info and offer of help

Re: Back to the beginning, with Pics
I used to run a GT30 and now run a GT35. Is it a Billet as they are slightly faster responding? I also can't see what the fuss is about with the lag as well. My M3 was also rubbish below 4K. Keep the revs in the right range and there is no problem. As Donald says, you can a bit of lag on throttle response until the pressure builds up. You just need to learn to drive around this. Once you get to know the turbo, just push the throttle a bit earlier. Or if you run a really big turbo, control the speed through the corner with the left foot on the brake and nail the throttle to build up the boost. Or you can use Nitrous to cut down on lag on the turbo.... which is epicr10crw wrote:Pretty sure its still 1.8 so your correct nothing until around 4k then I'm guessing that once I get traction (and am less scared) it will be like a hammer![]()
Questions though, this nothing low down then it coming in at 4K is that not called boost threshold then when nailing throttle the time taken to get boost is the lag? It seems quite responsive when feathering the throttle (compared to the Noble) and with respect to the 4K thing surely it means just keeping it in the revs with the gears? I'm not exactly a turbo guy so its all pretty new to me but Im struggling to see why people make a fuss about it, ever tried a Honda below 4K?
Bob (Hiscot on here) has been a great help and put me in touch with some guys who will hopefully be able to help out. Turns out the cars fairly well known down south and has the things down to it I was told about which is an improvement on my last Mr2![]()

There's a biking spinoff to avoid drowing SE in bike chat at http://www.sebikers.com but it's dead quiet over there just now in the off-season. Will deffo keep an eye out if I'm up in that neck of the woods - we organise runs on SEbikers too, so worth keeping an eye if you fancy some banter. Was very tempted by the RSV4 when I got the BM, but it was sooooo tiny!

Well it's been a bit more work than first expected but finnished wiring in the emerald yesterday, she started and settled into a nice idle! Was expecting a day of wire tracing and setting adjustments but almost everything working
Hopefully start testing and mapping this Friday
