Re: shiny new stuff
46mm ntr's. think they all have helpers whereas 40's only used them above 400lb(i think!)
ive gone for 425/550

40's only have them on the rears. Mine are 400/575 with 150 helpers on the rear

Re: shiny new stuff
I think I'm in the 450/650 sort of region on Egor ... not as harsh as you might expect. The challenge on Egor was to get enough droop travel on the front and enough bump travel on the back; we bought some brackets from EP and then modified them in a red neck stylee ... even so, when I jack the car up, the front wheel comes off the ground almost immediately, whereas the back takes a lot of jacking ... goes well enough for my limited skillz on track, though

Re: shiny new stuff
Dipper, tut's will be valved differently as they were spec'd as Randy's set up. Yours are also 46mm and his are 40mm with Eibach springs which Nitron no longer do. Different shocks for different folks so you can't compare spring rates between the two.

Re: shiny new stuff
I realise that mike. Tuts is also a bit lighter though. Ill see how I get on.
Re: shiny new stuff
I went with Randy's recommendations for N3 as a compromise between track and road. However with doing less tracking nowadays, I would probably be better off with 100lbs less. They are great on track and smooth roads, but I sometimes hold the wheel more firmly than normal on bumpy roads at speed.
However the one thing that I can be sure of is they are not going to ground out.
As probably an extreme example of a seat of the pants driver, it would probably be a good idea to ask one of our more technical set up drivers, Alan, Mike, Robin, Craig, et al to take it for a few days and see what they think. Have never changed the click range yet on the Nitrons, and I am sure that they could improve the gearchange.
So come on guys, get in line............

Re: shiny new stuff
I'm not driving that death trap
.
It would probably need the shocks re-valved as well as a spring rate change to get it more compliant on road. Should try backing off the dampening a couple of clicks at a time and if it goes too soft then back up one. If you can't get to a point where it feels the way you want it then the only option is to look at the dampeners as mentioned.
