Campbell, you seem to be missing the point that this is not a personal issue to the likes of yourself, Holly, Chris, or any other police officers that are members. Also the police have been praised on here, and members have been told to take the points, fines, and stop whinging if they deserved them.
However you can not post on how you are instructed to do the job now, and not get a responce of what we think of that. The police force should not only be respected, they should earn that respect. If they do not then they are not doing their job. Five years ago I stood on 11 points and I earned them, did not complain, but learned from them, even if it was from then onwards, right time, right place.
Regardless of the fact that I am an Elise owner, and a fairly law abiding one nowadays, I still think that the balance is wrong between using the easy option of concentrating on road offences as opposed to criminal crime, and I do appreciate that the former can include the latter.
It does not help the cause that weekly reports are coming out now of police corruption, from Chief Constables down to those on the beat. I know it is a small percentage, but the man in the street as the media like to class him, does not, so you all start to get tarred with the same brush.

ps:- the one thing that is sure, we all hate fcuking scam vans. They have nothing to do with road safety, they are purely positioned to get maximum revenue. Here is a snide remark, they are not police vehicles, or manned by the police, they are operated by drivers that were turned down for a job at McDonalds.
