No Ross, I didn't really expect any though.

My biggest concern was my right ankle. I still can't "point my toes" very well on the right and to try to do that as well as applying pressure through the toes or ball of the foot can, sometimes, be a bit ... uncomfortable ...

It's all about levers and windlasses in the foot and ankle – Jim?

That was my biggest worry - not being able to stamp on a non-servo brake at the end of a straight.

Can't left foot brake in that car as need clutch for down shifts. Regardless, I'd have been reluctant to run an unfamiliar car at a first event with a view to left foot braking - too many new things.

It turned out to be ok but I need to make sure the ankle is properly worked and warm before.

I also needed to check I can get in and out of the damn thing. Renny and his colleagues can, at their discretion, ask to see a driver get from fully strapped in to outside the car in sub seven seconds. In this case, my left knee would be the limiting factor. I can do it though ... I wouldn’t say it was elegant ... but I can do it.

I remember speaking to John Plenderleath about this some years ago (when it was five seconds, not seven). He described himself getting in and out of his Radical as “clumsy”. One day, he had an engine fire and found that he could get out of it; “like a jack in the box!”.

Anyway, thanks for asking – it seems like all systems go. :)

I'm not sure Renny - but I doubt it.

I'm using the car while Murray is in Angola so I wouldn't feel comfortable having it out every weekend.

I just want to get those Fintray demons behind me and then look to the future.

There are a couple of other factors though. My wife isn't quite 100% convinced that it's a good idea for me to be competing again.

Also, if you recall, that pretty red car in the video was upside down at Doune not so very long ago. :(

Cheers,

Eric :)
