House move and the BT man has just left as I was not happy with the SNR on my line, just jumped from 5mb to 7mb synch :) Upstream has gone up too!

Also in the process of putting home servers on to hyper-v which is proving a royal pita as I refuse to run a domain at home.

Pah, Monday.

Slight setback, Windows 2008 Hyper-V Server R2 installed no probs, muddled through the remote management of it, beat the domain thing, troubleshooting the VMs not starting....Intel E7300 CPU does not support virtualisation or data execution protection. Tats. Vanilla XP here we come :(

Only saw the first few comments on this but I bought a Hava box, was very easy to set up and use. I would imagine it is the same thing. http://www.myhava.com/product_hava_platinum_hd.html

Worked well, I bought it so that me and Luke could record our Cod4 matches and edit them and make video's etc. Was all very good fun but it also let's you watch movies, stream TV etc.

Got my popcorn hour up and running on my home network, got some of my movies stored on a LaCie Network space. Was wondering what the easiest way i can access my NAS from the office to transfer the rest of my movies (stored on the work desktop) on to it. I know nothing about IT and the initial set up of the popcorn was done by someone who was far more knowledgeable than me.

If its a lot of data I'd be using a portable drive to transfer it all. Doing it over tinternet is likely to lead to you falling out with your ISP and company IT dept. Has the Lacie got a USB port on it? If so I'd just take it in to the office and connect it directly to your PC

I have the previous version which cost about £25. It wont play HD mkv files but it plays SD avi files etc and upscales it to very good quality to my panny. Looks like they have improved the remote. The one on my version is a bit naff and the only thing that lets it down.

I am sure the HD version will be great. I use Mezzmo software and a wifi dongle thing to read the mkv files straight from my PC. Only snag is it that, whilst it will play all the HD mkv files, it has an issue with most of the SD avi's, which is a pain. I therefore use a combo of the Xenta and Mezzmo. The new one would be a good solution.

My A-100 is starting to struggle with newer 40+Gb blue ray back ups and the 100mb nic is a pain when moving large files.
Think the fware releases have understandably dried up too.

Anyone got anything interesting on the go? A-400?
