Hi Stu
yes I did mate. They seem pretty good, although hard to tell given the Scottish Summers day we enjoyed! Certainly wouldnt hesitate to use them over 48's for now anyway.
Also its the first time I've left knockhill in the Atom with the tyres still looking new
Meant to add a HUGE thankyou to John for organising it

Thanks John...
Had a good day running the Impreza in
A few wee niggles on the day and some lack of grip from the worn Pilot Sport Cups LOL. Changed them over about have way for nearly new 888 (that Fee has kindly flat spotted at Croft!!!! grrr) and things improved.
That supercharged Atom looks bonkers... Not sure who was driving when it passed me
Great pic from JohnS too

Glad you all enjoyed it, despite the somewhat variable weather
Just a reminder that you might want to book up for the next one on the 5th October soon to avoid the reserve list, as about 1/3 of the slots have already been sold!

I must admit that photo did stand out when looking at them in the camera

Had a brilliant day, even though the weather was a little challenging at times.
New suspension, new front disks, new tyres (AD08's) and p---ing down at times meant it really felt like I was driving a different car.
Learned a fair bit about car control in the wet, gradually winding off the traction control until talent exited stage right along with traction at Clarks. No damage done and drove out of the gravel. Apologies to Jamie. Tried to keep if off the racing line but left a fair trail back to the pits and it was still falling out the undertray back in the drive at home. No red flag though...
Went back home across Glenshee with Kinger. Road conditions were wet/dry / puddles / slow car / parked camper vans looking like scamera vans or run up to the ski centre. On the open road the Evora is just as quick as the exige and just sounds so good when overtaking on full chat.....
Alan offed to take me out in the Caterham and I turned him down as did not want to get wet...Fool. Next time....
As for the Atom. On full chat down the straight the speed was unbelievable. And the noise. Could clearly hear it in the Exige sounding like a demented swarm of amazonian killer bees....superb...
Big thanks as always to John for a superb day.
Roll on October..

255 section tyres and no mudflaps will kickup some spray. Not sure which tyres I was on there but was struggling on the Pilot Cups... esp the braking area for Duffus and Hairpin!

braking for the hairpin in the Atom in the wet was brutal - felt like i was babying the brakes, but tried going 10m past my braking point, and nearly went off! Main straight was the same - I've had the last Atom sideways in 3 different direction in the same approach for Duffus in the past, so since I wasn't racing, I took that a bit easier also.

Adam - how did you find the cups in the dry compared to the 888s?
Atom was very tricky under braking too. Would give you no feedback that the wheels were locked up. Surprising grippy on the corners though and with a default setting of oversteer, always going to be awesome fun

Still not had a chance to test them out on the dry but expect them to be better! The issue is finding them in 255/40/17.

Thanks for the lovely day, had an absolute blast on the track in the M3, wasn't sure how it would do on the 888's but it went fine, lots of vibration under braking so will need to get that checked out but other than that was a fantastic day, some go-pro footage if anyone is interested, apologies for the position on the driftbox, first time with the go-pro AND the driftbox, will move it in future

I did wonder what the plastic thing was on track that appeared in lots of my photos around the top of Duffus (see far right on the photo of Adam's Impreza).
Just spotted this photo of Tut:
And it looks like he lost a headlamp cover.
Did you manage to get it back at the end of the day?
