I also have to point out that the interior looks fantastic as well. Black with yellow stitching. Just needs some yellow callipers to finish the job.

oooooooooooooooooooo

mmmmmmmmmmmmm

aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Extremely Jealous....

So how many new V6's are there now in the NE????

Plan. Buy a private plate, put it on my present exige. Buy a V6 in same colour as present car. Put the private plate on the V6. Keep my wife away from anything to do with the bank. Park V6 in the garage. Would my wife notice????? I believe this might work as she did not notice the new wheels for 2 months, did not notice the soft top for 6 weeks, although she was actually in the car on a couple of occassions, and has not yet noticed the new front disks or Nitrons all round :D :D .

This requires serious consideration, and the setting up of a HUGE V6 slush fund...

Its relatively easy to get away with mechanical upgrades (and reassuring that we all seem to do it  ) but big respect due if you can get away with a totally new car without her noticing

Neil,
Car looks great, hoping to pop past on Sunday for a look see but won't be able to do much of the run as I've got someone coming to view the Westie at lunchtime.

Martin,

That was part of my plan with the private plate, wife thinks its just the same as the red Exige only slighty newer. Great minds think alike !! ( Christ I hope wife doesn't read these posts or I'm in for another divorce)

Cheers

Was wondering when you would come along and totally depress me  . Notice you did not take long to get the Avatar changed 8) . Should stop coming on here as only get depressed. Got so bad earlier I was looking at GT3's on Pistonheads

I reckon there would be more than 1 divorce if all of the other halves ever saw what really went on in the garage/on this forum....

There was one story about a guy who upgraded from standard Caterham to new R300, and told his missus he'd treated it to a respray

Gents,

I am afraid that your partners are not as blind as you all think.

They have been doing the exact same thing to us all for years.

They purchase a new pair of shoes, or new handbag and when you ask, 'Is that new?', they will respond with the usual, 'no, I have had that for months, but its been in my wardrobe, never had it on yet'.

Good luck trying to pull the wool over their eyes, but we are years behind them.

It would be funny purchasing a new V6 and saying, 'no it's not new, I have had it for months' though.

Pre winter purchase and would have to lock the garage over this period would be the easy bit.

Explaining where the money from the account has gone would be impossible.

Steve.

Good thing about being a senile old git with a beat up S1, is that much as I love to see you all buying the new models, especially as they are real performance cars, look fantastic, and you use them as befits a S_E'r, I don't feel jealous as I would be scared stiff of driving one in case it got shot blasted/sheep/deer/badger/damaged, and so far nobody has a soft top which could make a difference.
