Not everyone reads every post.

Just write what it's about and we can take it or leave it.

They'd be better spending some money on the ancient twisty bit of the A82 along Loch Lomond, not far south of Crianlarich, half of which is already falling in the loch anyway.

If this was France or Switzerland or Italy, they'd have bored a couple of tunnels straight through years back.

Instead, this other major northward artery turns into a country lane, and again is surely not good for blood pressure. Doubt I'll be using it again unless in the wee small hours.

Back on topic, average cams on the A9 would be great if just one at Perth and one at Inverness. I'd be happy with a genuine average of 60 between those points ;-) Sadly we have to cope with the cakehunters entering and leaving along the way, don't we...can't let them get away with it now can we ...

Anyway, at least I have now found a use for the MINI's trip computer function for average speed. Just reset as you pass each gantry and hey presto, trouble free motoring. Sorry what's that officer. What was I doing at the time of the shunt. Oh I was just resetting the trip computer to help me stay within the law. Yawn.

I have given up with the Loch Lomond road, and always go via Lochearnhead - Callender now. :thumbsup

Yup. Even Donna and Ian and sprogs went home to Cumbria that way. 6 miles diff to the A82 route, barely a couple of minutes in terms of driving time, and a significantly better road in terms of passing opportunities and overall average engineering of the tarmac etc.

The strange thing is that some chunks of the A82 up the Loch have clearly had loads spent upon them. Top Gear should come and do a feature on THOSE in terms of the running out of money gag...
