I know something gold is traditionally the way to go...very open to suggestions for something nice for my parents.
The more unusual the better - within reason as I know how warped some of you are...

Generally, I reckon by the time folk are at the Golden Wedding age, they have most things they wish, so an experience can be quite a good shout - get them doing something they would not normally do - of course, assuming they are fit enough to do whatever it maybe.
As far as actual gifts.... I always struggle on that front - esp for my parents!!

At the risk of sounding serious for a second. Time.
Whatever you do, make sure it involves spending plenty of time with them when they're both with you. I've found out in recent years that nothing means as much to my mum as the time she gets to spend with her kids, doesn't really matter what we're doing.

Totally agree here shug - saw my mum for the first time since the chopper crash, just on monday, and she gave me this look and the biggest hug ever, transpires she was mega-panicked as I was flying at the same time as the ditching.
I also get a bit of a bollocking if she finds out I've been home and not visited

For her parents you could see if you get away with "giving their daughter back" (this might not go down well with the other half, though)
For your parents you could try a scenic helicopter tour.
Cheers,

This is soo true, I took my dad to Le Mans this year for his 65th, and I started Karting again, so we are spending a lot of time with that which is great and makes me realise how much time he committed to me back when I was younger.
My mum isnt thanking me much for it though!

Virgin Balloon flight is a great idea. Wendy and I have done a few since the pilot is a mate and the balloon is based in the hangar at Perth. It is a memorable event but for reasons too boring to go into, the Glamis flight is often swapped to Perth City Centre at the North Insch at the last minute.
Obviously they might also prefer a fantastic flight in a microlight as well

You're welcome!
Another one for Renmure
Microlight is far more interesting/entertaining than fookin balloons

SIDC Knockhill Trackday.
There is this old bloke goes along, has a 'golden' S1, and gives out Pax rides like they are sweeties. Should be about the right age. Just don't get him to try and do a handbrake turn..
Seriously though. Would they fancy a track day with their favourrite offspring? Would mean spending a fair bit of time together preping for the day, then the day itself and the hospital visits afterward
