Seems included until renewal date (which is feb next year for me) then up to £79. Claimed to be a saving of £40 something over paying for download service itself

Yup, they've rebranded the Lovefilm Instant product as this new Prime streaming service and are forcing it on prime customers to increase it's user base. I doubt they'll let you have 'old fashioned' Prime without this addon.

For a while, I ran Lovefilm instant and Netflix and ended up dropping Lovefilm, not necessarily because the selection was worse (although I found myself watching more TV box sets, which Netflix is better for) but the streaming apps were awful compared to Netflix.

I wonder how much of it is to make up in a short fall from Prime - shipping rates aren't exactly cheap, some will never use the streaming, and the lovefilm servers are probably no where near capacity due to the number of folk who took the leap to netflix or similar..
