Looks lovely and hope you don't sell it with the way 964 Coupe prices are going !!! Really jumped up in the last couple of years - just wish the 964 Targa was increasing at the same rate (they have gone up but definitely not as fast as the Coupe).

I'm having a torrid time of it at the minute, sell or don't sell. Driving me mad. Still, driving it will help.
I love your targa, if it had been up for sale last year I might well have had it. Indicated that to you at the time.

I'm currently trying to figure out if I keep the 996 long term or sell it before the miles go astronomical.
Doing 20k pa at the moment and it's just turned 65k. Could sell just now without losing too much or keep it and put another 100k on it or something. Need to make a decision though.
Trouble is, I can't find anything else at around 20k that floats my boat or would deliver the same enjoyment.
I'd love to try an Evora, but on my miles that'd be daft just now.
Stumped.

It cant be that good a car if the only reason you selling it is because its loosing money

Probably didn't explain that very well.
Just still in the sweet spot I reckon for mileage and sale price. 65k on a 2003 and could probably sell it fairly easily for a similar price to what I paid. Never managed that before and it's tempting, if something worth swapping it for comes along.
If I don't sell it then it won't take long before its a higher mileage one at 20k pa. Mileage is the main reason for not buying the Evora. Running costs are fine, but I don't want to suffer the deprecation associated with having a high mileage example of any car or the hassle of trying to sell it when the time comes.
I just like to have a plan for where I might go next and when. Right now I can't figure it out. Evora and newer 911 are the most tempting, bit no point right now.
Make sense?? (probably not!!)

Dave,
Would it not make sense to get yourself a 987 Boxster S and then split the mileage between the 2.
Admit that you have 2 lots of bills to pay but you end up using the Boxster on the days when its nicer and the suns out.
George
PS would have suggested a Cayman but with the Boxster you have the added appeal of open top motoring

you drive 20K a year. therefore at some point your going to have a high mileage car. Just do the miles and stop moaning about it

If you love it that much just keep running it, it'll manage 200k no problem and that's by far the most cost efficient way to have a car apparently.

Both are stupid ideas.
You both know he's optimised both vehicles for the track and as such they can't be used on the road.

Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.
....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

OK forgot about DDtB's other garage items
3 lots of bills or 4 lots of bills probably won't make much difference.

It does when he moans that he cant afford the 3 current bills, and cant afford to actually use the other 2

Not complaining about bills :p
Problem is that the porker is so good its hard to replace without a massive budget increase.
Not spending 50k on an everyday shed to do 20k pa in though.
M135 has a great engine but looks sh1t. Gt86 is too expensive for what you get. New golf gti is comedy pricing. New Cayman is brilliant but over 60k.
Must be something out there I've not considered.
Thinking the porker will be mine for a while... But watching the new mustang with interest.
