Completely agree.
Would make a better used buy imho.

It looks massive in that first photo against the Exige, but some of that will be down to perspective.

A 260hp Exige would have been a more appropriate comparison.

It's massively wide. Wide as a Range Rover.

Sadly, it seems to suffer from that malaise that's been part of every Alfa I can remember. Wasted potential - certainly as it currently stands. Hopefully it'll mature with some model year tweaking into the car it should be.

Says a lot about the enduring skill of the Lotus development team. Sure, you can mock fit and finish sometimes, but something 99% of sensible people agree on is that Lotus always seem to be able to calibrate the handling of a car perfectly.

Yes, from the reviews you get the feeling that the Alfa should be better than it is. Carbon tub, gorgeous shape, but a so so engine, merely good rather than great steering and handling. Also seems strange to design such a great looking car and then ruin it with some horrible details like those headlights and a steering wheel which looks like it came off a Fiat shopping trolley. It surely has potential through.

The fact that it looses out to the 'old' Exige in the test is quite telling especially as it is in the same price range as the Exige V6 .
The Alfa does look good in Coupe form but to my mind looks out of proportion as an open top. :?

Not sure a £50K Elise sized car should be a turd needing polishing...

One of the Elises great virtues is its lack of width and weight, which together with the handling makes it such a great car on the types of road runs that we do when we are seeking out narrower B roads.

It's a stunning looking car. Personally much prefer it's aesthetic to the Exige - it does seem to have a 'certain something' to me.

But would be hard to ignore that crazy girth and comparatively fat price. Hammond mentioned it's RR width, and laboured the point at length in the Top Gear test.

910kg sounds perfectly feasible for an SC.

I found that on a yank site, maybe they have some spec differences?
