Or if the car had been 10 yards further forward..........

If's are pretty pointless in these situations.

Ignoring everything else, it's a good demonstration of poor road positioning (thus minimising sight distance) and its potential outcome. So that alone could help educate/remind some bikers.

Yet more proof that bikers tend to be lesser skilled when it comes to roadcraft and generally deserve the wide berth I already give them

Well, it's a number of things. Bad road craft, bad riding, stupid riding, lucky riding but most of all.....a good warning to me!
Slow in....fast out! :D

Ive taken so many corners on my bikes over the years and lost count how many times you bottle it and the bike drags you into the oncoming lane. No one wants it to happen but it does, even to experienced guys.

He just seemed to be throttle happy and didnt consider his speed and approach!

If that's the case, i think you need to consider a riding course, mate.
I ride fast, but safe. Oil, or mud aside i don't drift across on a bend. It's about riding to your ability.
The amount of "fast" riders i have met over the years that have square tyres ...
The rider has been contacted by the police, charges pending.

Really
I would worry if that had happened a lot (think it has happened to me once in 15+ years! However I do ride like a Granny  )

Seriously? That's not right at all mate. Go get some training. I've been riding 27 years and that is not something that should happen at all, ever.
You're not safe.

Buy yourself a copy of Keith Code's 'A Twist of the wrist' and don't go out until you understand it.
In being quite serious here, being dragged by your bike in to the other lane is not an option.

I've been riding four years or so now, this summer... I'm far from experienced, done a fair amount of miles, but no genius at it.

It has happened to me - twice. I think in the first year I had a license. I remember vividly each time and having a stern word with myself - knowing I'd dodged a bullet. Seriously mate, I don't want to preach, or jump on a bandwagon here, but if you really do think it's a normal thing for it to be happening a lot, you really do need to have a long hard think - you'll run out of luck one day.

Anyone with any kind of road craft can see how bad this rider is well before the off.

If your doing the same then you better get some tuition before its to late.
