Hi Tut, be careful on mentioning any health concerns, as they may try to revoke your license for good.

Good luck
Paul.

I was thinking the same. If you say that all of those things effect you, then they are more likely to take your licence off of you on medical grounds.

Tut, would it not be cheaper to buy yourself a new satnav? The only reason you were on the Oban road is because you went the wrong way again.

Afternoon Tut

Just reading through this expecting it to be SPAZZ related driving incidents

Get a good lawyer..............I have a cousin who's had more points/bans than all of the current Premier League footballers put together, and he pays the money to get results.
(His annual insurance premium however costs more than a new Mondeo)
Echo the previous sentiments on a mitigation plea based on medical grounds.........that will act as a catalyst to be made to resit your driving test as you are over the "three score years and ten" .

I have another 109mph club member :( . Sorry to hear this Tut I remember that feeling only to well. There's not much to add that hasn't been said . Were you charged with speeding or dangerous driving ? . As as far as I can see you were nicked by van and not the speed cops where in the back of the car they as the reason for your speed . Lets face it you could have a had a an incontinent moment and were speeding to the nearest hotel / toilet etc to take care of the situation................

I await with interest on this one

Patrol car Neil. Charged with dangerous driving with an alternative of speeding, which is the one that I would be pleading guilty to.

Dangerous is a minimum one year ban, so have to try and get it downgraded to careless.

Was a sunny dry day that day and the conditions were excellent.
Not an excuse but I'm sure the police could verify this and it might help.

They said that they had noted that down Bob so it may help to get it reduced from Dangerous to Careless.

Dangerous is very difficult to prove for speed alone and requires actual danger to people or significant property.

'Careless' is a very different charge. There is Police policy to automatically charge with dangerous driving over a certain speed criteria but nothing to say it would downgrade to careless or they would try and prove that (i.e. if dangerous not pursued then it may be speeding only).

I would think If no other cars involved, no form of erratic manoeuvres, then It will get dropped to speeding. If you plead guilty before hand to this, they are likely to accept It, as It will save them time and money having to try and prove otherwise for the Dangerous driving. Your lucky you got an alternative, I got done for reckless driving many years ago with no alternative. Got to court, the PF even agreed to my lawyer It should have been no more than a careless, but as It was no alternative, I got done. DD30. Managed to keep my licence, heavy fine and 10 points.

Thanks Khyber, as I have said no recriminations, purely my own fault, just that the brain goes into neutral at times as most on Spazz realised.

Could not attend the Court hearing at Oban today because of a hospital appointment, so hopefully will get close to Winter before before they put me in the stocks.
