Another government website not fit for purpose! Took me an hour of waiting for pages to load last for the pleasure of giving the government 500 of my hard earned pounds!

ANPR doesn't recognise non standard font on plates.
SORN your car, fit 'show' plates with a dodgy font.
The only chance of getting caught is if the rozzers stop you, and there's not many around these days.
I'm fairly confident that more will evade, at least at first.

Road tax due on N3 today.

Court case tomorrow, however it is free for me so will tax it anyway, she is insured and MOT'd, but of course I would never drive except in an emergency. At least I can drive Verian to the airport tomorrow before they ask me to send my licence in.

Anybody else found that the postal service is getting worse, two cheques that I have sent recently that never got there?(genuine)

Right, here's my view on it.
(Although I would never do this)
Find another car - same as yours- same colour etc - whether it's in another town miles away or on autotrader for sale
Clone the reg numbers
And stick them on your car.

You could drive your cloned car with no mot, insurance, road tax etc
And never get caught (providing the other car is up to date)

When you had your tax disc on display, this was a tell tale that it tied up with the reg number on the car.

I think the criminals in this country will take advantage of this

Slight problem if you have an accident though, pulled up for speeding, or write a cyclist off.

If you have just mangled a cyclist, no tax is the least of your problems.

Saw a bit of interceptors tonight and the first thing the cop did when he pulled a guy was check his tax disk to make sure it matched the plate.

True, it's hard to get all the bits out the grills etc.

The bit of paper in the window is of limited value because it's hard to read automatically. Of course a few people get pulled for not having a tax disc, but at the moment almost all road tax enforcement is done by ANPR anyway.

My experience of the road tax website (and the people on the end of the phone in Swansea or wherever they are) has been positive.

Cheers,
Robin

Nice idea, but not the best template. You need to consider the entity relationships, i.e. "one car, many drivers, many passengers". Consider adding photos to avoid ID mix-ups. To make identification easier, you could smash your face up for the photo to help the paramedics. :D

But if you do that and copy the tax disc then what's the difference. Easy enough to clone a tax disc these days.
