I need to replace my 4-way flasher switch as its corroded and causing havock with the indicators.
I got one out a 106 and thought it would be a 5 min job. After 5 mins of tugging and gently levering the surround/trim i left it. Admittedly, i didnt try very hard or do much investigation but i didnt have time to start stripping stuff any further so i left it for next time i was home.
how does it come off?
cheers,
Fraser

Re: removing light switch surround - S1
They pull out. I have the faux carbon trims like the 111S in my car; I think these are a bit more flexible. I used a flat bladed screw driver to help lever them down, but was doing another job at the same time to had the steering cowl off. Once you've the trim popped off, there are 2 (I think) Philips head screws that need to be undone to release the upper aluminium dash panel. That panel then unclips and releases the panel with the switches in it.

Not sure whether you are talking about the indicator stalk, or the four push buttons for the lights Fraser so have included both.

Thanks to you both!
Tut - it was the latter, i should have been more clear.
It was one of these ones where i could move it side to side, but it felt like the kind of plastic where if there were 'tabs' clipping it in place that i weren't squeezing- i would end up snapping them.
Now i know, i'll give it a bash on Thursday. At least i know it doesnt go right behind the steering cowl.
cheers!

Re: removing light switch surround - S1
I have done it many times, those switches are crap and also gather grit and dust, so I have had to replace them several times.
I just did it by prizing out the plastic surround and not the steering column cowl the last couple of times, as the tab on the left hand side of it slipped clear, but they can vary.

Its a spare switch connector but the one in there is a blank.
I think that I connected mine on N3 to something else but can not remember what.
