Still the high bidder, but have to decide what my max bid will be in the last few seconds.

Would hate to miss it. <BG>

Michael

Are you a Physic?

In my younger days I was into TR2's and 3's. They had the cuttaway doors with sidescreens, but of course you would never be seen dead with those on.

Used to cruise around thinking that I looked cool with the arm draped over the door.

Just found a photo of it, and also my first ever car bought for £10 when I was 16. Took it out for a test drive two days before my 17th birthday, and got stopped by a Morris Minor 1000 Patrol Car for a buckled wheel, with no tax, insurance, licence, and under age, and was fined £10.

The pram I reckon was where Lotus stole the design for the Elise from. Note the plastic bodywork, rear spoiler, folding hood, spoked wheels, low profile tyres, it all fits in.

cool story. Could you convince me that the lotus is worth keeping or should i recover the cash and try and make my millions then come back to it or buy something better....need some wise words at this perpetual confusing time!! Total love hate relationship. Im only 26 and feel its not very sensible at this point but i love the ethos!!

Michael, if you have a huge loan on the car or could do with the cash that is locked in it for a house or something that hoepfully wont depreciate, then maybe it is time to cut your losses. You are only 26 so hopefully you will get another chance to own a lotus. Even if you don't, at least you can always tell your grandchildren that you once owned a cool car.
Big BUT ... if you don't really need the cash and can afford the loan repayment easily, you have to think what else would you do with all that money and spare time. You might very much regret getting rid of it and spend the next few months looking for another as good as your first. You'll also wonder why no one is looking at you when you are driving a grey mondeo :scratch

I had an S1 for a year and half, sold it, then bought back the same car a year and half later. I haven't regretted buying it back even though I have spend nearly a grand on it since getting it back earlier this year.

Sleep on that :D

Listen to the man though Michael - sound financial advice is often available from Stewart. He's not the kind of guy who lets his heart rule his head  He's also not the kind of guy who squeels more than the tyres when you take him out for pax laps (awaits someone to tamper with the quote)

I've still got a rusting 7 in my folks garage but would love the drop door styling of the 2, 3 & 3A.

One of these days I will get myself a 3a though.

He has just posted two more pictures of it with the hood up.

Like the Elise, if I get it, it aint likely to get used much.
