And twice the price, even for the cheapest used ones, so hardly comparing apples with apples :D

Probably an early GT3.

Mebbes a 997 version unless they go strato.
Campbell,

You may have missed the boat as the prices are increasing substantially due to demand. Quick look on Pistonheads and a 997 GT3 Gen I with 50K miles is now £60K+ (majority in £85k region) and low miles 997 Gen II commanding £95K+.

Even the 996 GT3 (which was once the unloved Porsche) is now commanding healthy prices (£55k+) and increasing substantially.

If you look at GT3 RS prices it gets even more eye watering.

Sold my 997 GT3 for £2k more than I bought if for 4 years prior.

The current one I've just been offered £20k more than I paid.

Loving Porsches currently.

Campbell if you want a 997 GT3 either buy it now or wait for the next economic crash - they are going mad.

Apparently all the 99! Gt3 RS's were offered to 918 owners - not unsurprisingly I think all of them have taken it up

Andy,

Completely agree, same boat with the Boxster Spyder as the current prices are £10k more than I paid a couple of years ago.

With rumours of a 981 Spyder maybe the residuals will take a hit temporarily but in the long term I should be ok. Its all "on paper" as not selling for a long time (head wishes I bought that 964 RS in 2001 though instead of the S1 Elise).

Just going to have to wait until after the wedding before toy hunting. Saying that the cost of the wedding would have almost bought one

Porsche Edinburgh want it so thinking it will be going there. Its not getting much use, and as it starts to appreciate more its going nowhere near a track in reality.

George,

Point taken, although no boat missed...currently "sailing" in a fabulous Evora NA which I never believed I would have :-)

If even the cheapest GT3 pricing is heading north, that's ok. On that basis it's a credible asset and worth funding - somehow, some way - when circumstances allow :-)

Exactly, never heard of many young lads that lusted after a Porsche, always a Ferrari.
