i too had been in contact with Graeme about an Exige - need to get a house first before I decide what Lotus i can get next.

Bloody housing market!!

No poofy air-CON in mine either, never had it in any of my cars so I don't miss it and opening the windows works fine for me :) I didn't want to add 35kg to the car and also the expense if it went wrong which sounds like quite often.

My aircon has worked for about half the time I've had the car. Missed it a bit on hot days. Make sure it's working/fixed under warranty, I dread to think what mine is costing to fix. Week and a half estimate and new sill panel, painting etc...

:D Pretty sure the brochure says a/c = 35kg and t/pack = 25kg.

Actually i was on Top Marques today and there was a black one for £26 - it's an 04 plate without a/c..

Seems a bit high for an 04 is it not?

nothing a dealer does ever surprises me/us!! I think theres normally a 2k dealer premium so perhaps its a touch on the high side?!
Did think it had a/c though.

Theres a black Exige S with supertouring pack and AC for sale in Jersey privately at "around 26-27k". Maybe worth a look.
Where did you see that one? sounds like a good price!?!?

Biggest argument for aircon is resale-ability; that said I wouldn't be without it for choice.

Have air con though ive never used it..Normally just open a window if it gets too warm though I would imagine its a must if your into touring Europe in the summer months. Big plus for selling latter on as well.

Yup, I definitely miss the aircon from my last car. Not so much for summer use to cool down (the roof does come off, after all! ) but more for quick clearing of the screen in the winter. It's also sometimes nice to get a wee blast of cool air in the face on a long drive to wake yourself up!

If I ever bought an Exige (which I may do one day!), then aircon would be a definite!
