I read it as the bodyshop that has been sold on by MMC........?
The John Martin Group have sold their bodyshop to a third party. It retains Lotus approval and accreditation. JM retain their Lotus dealership and service operations.
This is what it said, though thanks to Graeme for confirming:

Regarding a posting (on other Lotus groups) which stated the Lotus repairs department within JM Group has been bought over, am led to believe that although this is indeed correct, they will still be an Authorised Lotus Repair Centre.

What it does mean to us, if we go via MMC for body shop repairs, is that we may not be given priority status as previous. To address this, MMC in the very near future will be liaising with another centre to spread work out.

The end result for us owners is that the level of repair will be to the same quality and if anything, lead times for repair and possibly even costs may be reduced as they can put work down either avenue.

I think some of you will have seen the latest MMC joke of a social media campaign where by their employees are posting saying they have had great service on the SE, Lotus Ecosse and Evora Owners Group Facebook page.

So of course me being best buddies with MMC highlighted that they were employees so had a biased view, I can't actually remember quite what I said but I had my usual rant at them as did a number of other disgruntled customers. Surprise surprise the posts have all now disappeared after Ian Campbell of MMC posted a comment accusing me of being a liar. Now I stupidly didn't take a screenshot of the comment otherwise I'd have had the evidence to post here.

Just another example of quality MMC customer interaction. Lucky I didn't have a screenshot otherwise I'm sure if I was Ian's boss I'd have given him a right bollocking for being so stupid.

Actually after some wise advice from people on SE I haven't let it put me off like when this first kicked off. Also what has helped is how the factory came to the rescue when none of this was their fault.

If I do buy a new Lotus at somepoint in the future it will just not be from MMC. Still enjoying the Evora though so no plans to get rid of it. Would love a 380 to stick next to it though.

I'd have another Lotus in a heartbeat.
In fact, that's what I want next.
I'll be avoiding MMC though, after what they did to my Zenos.
I wouldn't trust them to service my lawnmower never mind my car.

Now that I finally have my car back off them I don't see why not. Didn't want to post anything as their behaviour has been appalling and I was worried about them sabotaging my car out of spite. The lies they were coming out with were shocking, so although I know that's sounds OTT it's how they made me feel.
Sad to say that's my opinion of them now.
I'll get something up this week.
Cheers.

My ideal car is there: yellow Elise cup in 30s but don't want to deal with them after reading this thread

If IAN had been honest with me and explained the situation I may have still had a deal with him but not now.
£12k below :damnfunny

If the Dealer Principal's values are so flawed can anyone really expect anything more from the rest? Brandon and Craig were both honorable and trust worthy individuals that shielded customers from MMC's flawed customer care values - they're gone now and with them it would seem so has everything that was good about MMC.
