NLC New Mclaren

I watched this review last night out of interest. Even if you don't ever want a Mac, there are some interesting developments in the latest model worth a look.

Lots of very impressive tech, but it's er, not exactly a looker.

I love that! need to see the lights in the flesh but all in it looks amazing... Cheaper than a 675LT? It's great to see some styling that moves the game on from the standard supercar look we've got used to :thumbsup

I agree with both of these. Front on it's a tad bland, the headlights make it look like it's reflecting in water, and why does it have 'budget grey' bits each side of the front bumper immediately in front of the wheels.
Almost bloated from the side view, and I don't like the Pagani style cabin way too far forward appearance (which I suspect is something to do with regulations and windscreen rake or something?) - side on the roof line looks backwards, slopy at the rear and hatchback at the front.

Like other McLarens, the back is the completely opposite of the front, so no way to confuse which end is which, despite the roof line. Whilst the front is bland, the back is a complete orgy of details, way over designed.
A shame as the swooping side lines look great.
So yeah, overall, it's not too pretty for me. I'm sure it's very aero-friendly mind.

BUT at least it's more removed from the genetic Supercar look that plenty companies seem to be doing, and it seems that McLaren have managed to create a 'face' for their cars, which will no doubt help the appearance of their cars as time goes on.

That looks stunning. I like everything about it. I had always felt McLaren's looked a little bland and too smiley faced at the front but that model manages to remove most of that but is still unmistakenly a McLaren.

I agree on the reviewer, but can get over that as he does know the car very well, and can identify the changes made. The engineering behind it is impressive, but concerning in some ways. I can tell they have learned a lot, but some of the tech just seems a bit over complex and I do prefer functional and simple. Reaction to the front is mixed and I think they could have done a better job, apparently McLaren reps at the Geneva show are a bit concerned.
