Yep - I was introduced to them around that age too.

Eye in the Sky was my first listen.

Mid 90s Cyrus CD, pre and power amps, B&W 684s in the living room, now with an Arcam rBLINK DAC for the streaming duties if I'm feeling lazy.

Linn Klassik and Keilidh system in the dramming room.

Never felt the need to change either, CD development has reached end stage, it's old tech now, but I do fancy some dynaudios, just difficult to justify.

Audiolab 8000A amp with Tannoy Mercury speakers. Had since early 90s and replaced 80s Denon equipment .

inputs = Marantz KI signature CD, Systemdek IIX turntable (21st 30 yrs ago) , and the TV & Bluray also wired into the old Audiolab with RCA phonos.

I have hundreds of LPs & CDs so don't bother with spotify. In the Elise it is CD or vroom vroom, and in Cooper its Radio 6 on DAB
Audiolab :(
I seriously debated buying Systemdek at the time but decided on a Manticore Mantra turntable instead, it’s in the loft as well.
We must have been reading the same magazines in the same era and going to the same shops to see what was available for listening to. :)
The Music Room and Hi-Fi Corner. By a strange twist of fate myself and the owner of Music Room, Jack, are both now married to Filipinas who are good friends. Small world .

Well this thread got me thinking. Only downside of Audiolab is no optical inputs and I try to use it as AV amp. So couple of months ago Audiolab released the 6000A which still has MM TT input, plenty of line inputs , and crucially 4 optical inputs and bluetooth. What Hi-Fi gives it a 5 star review and says its doing what the 8000 did 35 years ago, at £599 won't break the bank so I can feel a change coming.

Also the Systemdek is now updated and being (re)manufactured by Audi Note. Audiophilia in Edinburgh are an agent so thinking of an overhaul and replacing the glass and wool platter with the new Acrylic version .

As for the Marantz KI, What Hi-fi did a review 20 years on to see if it still has it, and it dos, so no upgrades there .

I was quite impressed today when I fired up my Denon AVR‑X2100W AV amp from 2014 and it wanted to pull down a firmware update!

Got some Danish Hifi, but not B&O
Dynaudio C2 speakers, now powered by an Anthem STR integrated amp.
Sources - Rega RP8 turntable and a Cyrus CD transport.
Need to get a decent network player, but keep spending money on cars :)
Now with half an engine

I’ve worked for Bang & Olufsen during last 5yrs. Met many of the engineers/ design people behind their products... really passionate people who truly love what they do.

I only have a set of wireless H9i headphones from B&O. But would like a lot of their stuff if time / money would allow.

Our recent lounge extension has a reasonable setup / mish mash of things to get the home cinema and music going. The entertainment system consists of:

www.puretheatre.com
180cm Ceiling Recessed Projector, Screen Format CR180-16/9
Projector Lift - Large CRLFT-LGE (long drop)
Projector EPSON EH-TW7200

www.orbaudio.com
Mini Classic One 2.1 System (pearl white) & Orb Audio Subwoofer
Mod 2 Quickpack (pearl white) with 4 speakers
Shipped from USA direct

All running of an older Onkyo Amp TX-SR606

Great for watching some F1 in HD ImageImage

Ok so now upgraded to the full sonos 5.1 with the Playbar, Sub and 2x play. Miniblonde came home (pissed) from her girls Xmas night out and I can confirm that it will do 110db without distortion... like no distortion, Sonos have nailed it. No sleep for me tonight or the neighbours.
