Track Days 2019

Post by robin » Sat Dec 01, 2018 11:03 am

Couple of things have caught my attention. We maybe should use the SE calendar, but anyway if people post other options on the end of this I'll keep editing this post to keep it up to date with all options.

Spa & Silverstone National, Circuit Days, Thu 21/3/19 & Sat 23/3/19 - bit early in the year maybe and have never driven Silverstone (national is the shorter circuit I think).

Spa, LoT, Sat 16/3/19

SIDC Saturday 30th March at Knockhill booked. Usual 9-1 slot.

Spa, Javelin, Mon 1/4/19 & Tue 2/4/19

Folembray & Zandvoort, LoT, Mon 6/5/19 & Tue 7/5/19 - a bit close to the Twenty's Plenty maybe.

Clastres & Folembray, LoT, Fri 26/7/19 & Sat 27/7/19 - a nice long weekend trip and cheap tracks but needs to be booked soonish [I cannot go, though, 'cos on Tiree]

Zandvoort & Zolder, LoT, Mon 9/9/19 & Tue 10/9/19 - would be better if happened to line up with either Spa or DN ... but worth thinking about.

Spa, Circuit Days, Tue 1/1/10/19 & Wed 2/10/19

Donnington Park & Oulton Park, Mon 28/10/19 & Tue 29/10/19 - a lot of us are booked on this already.

Will update once the Lot Spa and/or DN dates are known.

Definitely going to do Spa if I can but waiting to hear the DN dates because the Ring is my primary target for next year. 👍

I like the idea of driving Silverstone too. Not heard great things as far as how good it is, but one that needs ticked off the list.

Zandy and Zolder sounds good later in the year rather than Frolics, as you said it would be nice if a Spa day could tie up!

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

Yeah I won’t be doing frolic this year with it being the same tracks again. Would do zandy Zolder and another if there was that option.

Butch frolic (Belgian and Dutch)

Butch raidillon and the slotemaker butte.

Keen for at least one Euro jaunt again. Waiting to hear what LOT Spa dates are though as I need my fix of it.

Well that's the year end sorted out. I'd previously booked Oulton / Donny double header for October and now I've just booked up the Zandvoort / Zolder double header for September, even booked the P&O ferry to Rotterdam and back for £330 which includes meals and priority boarding ( £770 for Trackdays and ferries). Now just to book the usual hotels and that's job done :| :D :D

hopefully LOT announce spa this week - PG had said something about knowing them but not announcing publicly to something was sorted?

No-one seems to have Ring date either - just hoping some of them match up to facilitate a multi-track outing!

Javelin just confirmed 1st and 2nd April. Currently £450 for the double header. Was great last year, except for the very wet first morning 😂😂

Robin - what about Cadwell/Abeville/Folembray/Zandy - one day off between Cadwell Friday May 3rd and Abeville Sunday 5th, otherwise back to back ending at Zandy on the Tuesday.

I've done Abeville and Folembray - dont recall them being must revisit tracks but if it makes for a trip... would be perfect if we could fit something else around it also.

Folembray is good if short - it's got some good fast bits and some good twisty bits.

Abbeville is entirely missable - short, flat almost go-kart track - you just burn fuel, brakes and tyres.

I would rather do Cadwell -> Folembray and pick somewhere nice to go in the middle (i.e. find a route from Zeebrugge to Folembray that goes through some good country side, off the motorway, stop over in little towns; you could also dip south to Reims for visiting the old F1 pits and a hoon about the old roads there). So we would arrive in Zeebrugge morning of 4/5 spend two pleasant days and nights in northern France.

On the way back do Ijmuiden -> Newcastle for quicker return route.

Let's wait for DN and Paul's Spa dates before finalising.

The April double Spa date also looks promising, especially if it happened to coincide with DN dates ...

Cheers,
Robin

So Paul’s dates are mid March, 29/7 and 14/11 (or similar) at Spa .
