New(ish) car .. not really Lotus Content and a long wait..
Re: New(ish) car .. not really Lotus Content and a long wait..
The answer I got back is:-
"The disk is on the end of the rear bank exhaust cam and it is there to provide the trigger for the cam sensor. This in turn will allow the Ecu to run a fully sequential injector sequence because the Ecu can then identify which cycle the engine is in"
Whatever than means

Another update for anyone still awake or interested: Things are coming together nicely.
The car has just returned from the trimmers and all the interior is looking fantastic. The quality of the trim is way beyond anything that I would previously associated with a kit and is more like a bespoke product. Unfortunately for photos, all the inside parts are on the shelf wrapped up in bubble wrap and even the seats etc are still wrapped in plastic and waiting for the final fit till after the bodywork goes through the long final sand and polishing process.
Having seen everything I'm delighted with the choice of red carpets with black trimming along with a black alcantara interior with red contrast stitching.
This was the first time I'd seen the car with the majority of the bodywork on. The arch extensions for the front of the wheel arches were also made and the airbox to go over the ITBs was ready to fit. My full exhaust system had been finished by Zircotec and was ready to go back on after a more IVA friendly system is fitted for the test.
The paperwork for the IVA was sent away today so I should know in 2 weeks when that test is and there's still a chance it might even be this month.
Shouldn't be long to go before IVA then it's off to the paintshop for the Alitalia warpaint and full 1977 Tour de Corse decal set.
It's a bit easier to see how the end car should look now.

Wow looking fantastic and the interior does look totally class.
You have also future proofed the car as well by fitting a breathing vent above the windscreen so that you can take the car out in the impending floods that we will all be getting

Looks quite petite without all the rally gubbins nailed on
Mine is in limbo at the moment. The paperwork for getting the IVA test went off and I was expecting that test to be done late March / early April, so now really. Unfortunately there is a 3 month suspension of IVA tests due to the virus situation.
