Exige V6 prices

Post by rossybee » Sun Jun 28, 2020 8:47 pm

Been looking at the market with a keener eye of late.... :D

...is it just me or is the roadster a bit cheaper?

Does it have softer suspension settings etc?

Or just de-spoilered and plusher interior?

:cheers

Think it may not have a higher max mph to prevent the official soft top from tearing off..

I think that they are a little cheaper and I would say that the coupe has sold more though. From memory, you could have had the track pack with the slightly stiffer springs in both varieties and there was a small difference in geometry between both. Roadster has the front splitter and rear spoiler missing and the interiors were very similar. Plusher though, er no. :D

You can take the hardtop off of the coupe and buy a soft-top too. Roadster had a limited top speed to save the soft-top ripping off.

Both great cars and the suspension is much better than the Elise in my opinion.

Go and have a test drive and see what you think.

Good luck Ross.

You're not a roadster guy.
You're a splitter and spoiler guy.

Good info thanks Steve.

The roadster appeals as I like the tarty seats many have, and I'd quite possibly rarely use the hard top :cheers

Don’t keep close tabs on pricing but roadsters seem to be significantly cheaper.
No idea if that’s in line with new prices but there seem to £1000’s difference even for the cheapest v6’s at mid £30k’s

There's a long thread on Seloc about Exige V6 prices (currently 592 pages) - https://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php?tid=399222

Roadsters are definitely cheaper and it all depends what you're looking for. I guess you'll also have to consider resale but I can't imagine values will go too far south on an a low priced roadster. No doubt you'll start looking at roadsters and end up with a 430 Cup.

A 430 Cup would end in tears as Mrs B wouldn't be too understanding with the purchase cost :damnfunny

Sometimes I think I could save a heap and go for a nice S1 like I've talked about errrrr for over a decade

It will be interesting to see if V6 price continue above S2 prices in the long term. You can pay more for an S1 than an S2 now with low milage, original S1's commanding some very strong money.

Some late model S2 exige are advertised above cheap S3 Exige already.
So there will be an overlap sure that will increase in time depending on condition and model same as S1 vs S2 Elise never mind S1/s2 Exige

Hi Ross

A few thoughts on the V6 exige - sold mine 2 years ago.

Lack of LSD on most models is a total pain in the ass. Fuel tank - if you can find one that has been upgraded to the 60 litre one, result. I preferred the Exige look, and you can obviously remove roof and use a soft top with the fitting kit.

More refined that the S2 etc but essentially just an improved and updated cabin, and if you can get the new open gate shift version, its a thing of beauty.

The mod randy does for the Supercharger is worth a look also, changing to the TVS1900, if you are tracking it.
