S1 Exhaust movement
S1 Exhaust movement
After the SIDC trackday I notice my Exhaust had moved towards the passenger side of the car. I took the exhaust, Cat and Flexi pipe off and cleaned everything up. Set it all back up with new silicone mounting rubbers and the exhaust outlets sitting centrally in the rear clam.
After Wednesday's track day I've noticed it's moved back left to the passenger side, almost touching the clam.
I'm wondering if it could be the engine mounts needing to be replaced, would appreciated your thoughts.
Cheers

Wouldn’t think it would be the engine mounts if replacing the rubber hangers fixed it last time.Kinger wrote:After the SIDC trackday I notice my Exhaust had moved towards the passenger side of the car. Rubbers getting to hot then cooling with the exhaust off centre?

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

Don’t think it worked last time, it was only central until I gave it the works on track.Mike Scib wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 3:49 pmWouldn’t think it would be the engine mounts if replacing the rubber hangers fixed it last time.Kinger wrote:After the SIDC trackday I notice my Exhaust had moved towards the passenger side of the car. Re: S1 Exhaust movement
Is the tail pipe loose?
If you're not living on the edge you're wasting too much space!
Re: S1 Exhaust movement
Another question on the same subject, how flexible should the flexi joint be on the Exhaust link pipe. Mines seems pretty rigid ?
Re: S1 Exhaust movement
Has the back box moved through the rubbers or is it just the tailpipes that move?
