I've found one... 2014 Elise Macau edition

Post by Fossil73 » Sat Jul 02, 2022 1:30 pm

Hey all

After a fair bit of searching I have done the deed and brought an Elise... its a 2014 Macau Edition and after a week I am loving the wee thing.

Thanks to all those that gave advice and guidance during the search.

Looking forward to a few meets and drive with the LDC over the Summer

Yeah, I really like the pure shape of the base model. The 220 and up are amazing machines but I wanted something that could be driven hard without being at 3 figure speed numbers all the time :-)

Loving it so far!!!

Looks lovely
My google skills are underwhelming and am struggling to find much about the Macau edition. What's the changes /difference?

To be honest, there really isn't much documented about them... from what I have managed to find the story seems to be that they took an Elise 1.6 CR, painted them all Old English White, added the Exige seats in black leather with a lotus crest on the headrests, aircon, stereo, adjustable anti roll bars, Lotus DPM, footrest, body coloured centre console and few other bits and planned to sell them to the asian market I think. There was some kind of change in law which meant they couldn't so they released them as a Macau special edition in the UK. By all accounts they made 23 of them!!

I guess I'll find out more when the provenance pack arrives from lotus.
