Road Angels

Post by RDH » Thu Dec 07, 2006 2:51 pm

Laura's suggested getting me a Road Angel Plus for Christmas. Is it worth it - they seem like a good idea - but i'm not convinced?

Opinions? :?:

I know Ed as a Road Angel ( don't know what model) Ed - is it any good?

After a lot of comparing I bought a Talex Lite a few months ago, fantastic for only £80 and it came top in a few reviews although it does not have a laser detector

not as good as my Origin B2.

Won't own a car without one....has saved mine and few other loti drivers from a mail shot and 3 points.

Thats what I'd go for........

Although I do have Indago's in the warehouse, but haven't demo'd one yet.

Yeah - but are you not more likely to get caught by a "laser"?

well yes, but by keeping it updated it has a great database of 'mobile sites' built in and so far every time it has warned me correctly

Agreed - i've got the full Talex and i dont use the features that are missing in the Lite. Updates are cheap as chips too. 8)

ed and i both have classic road angels. ed got his when that was pretty much all there was on the market, and the laser detector was great until the police changed their speed guns. i think now it's pretty much impossible to get laser detector that works without you having already been done (open to corrections). you need an auto garage opener, or to hit a speed bump too fast.

mine only cost £80 so not too fussed. having seen andy's origin b2 in action, that's what i'd get if i was going to spend proper money.

I had a snooper for a day and took it back. Got the New Road Angel and was happy with it. But they then offered me an upgrade to the sat nav version and gave me back 2 thirds of what I'd paid for it 18 months later so I'm now using that.

But the downside of the sat-nav one is that it doesn't have laser detectors? (though from what Tom's saying - they don't work anyway?)

Hmm - this is getting confusing :?
