Knockhill - whats going on??

Post by Daveb » Wed Jan 03, 2007 10:20 pm

Seen a few comments about this on here!

Prices are now up to £85 for 4 hour Hot Marques session, £90 on the day!!!

This is getting shocking, likes of Donnington is £99 for the full day and theres no comparison.

For 07 I suggest you try tracks out down South. Its not that far or expensive to travel and the tracks are amazing.

Your now paying about the same. Fair enough you have extra petrol and distance to allow for but your getting proper facilites, inc garages. Amazing tracks. Full days. And great organisation.

What do you think about the prices?

Agreed.
KH can go and ram it but I will still support the SIDC days.

Yep in 05 I think I paid £60 for a 4 hour session in March, a 50% rise in that time is a bit much, and you can bet on summer 4 hour sessions being bumped to over £100.

Like the others I'll still do CE and SIDC days but the number of KH days will be very reduced this year.

KH is a great track, but in the past 2 years i have went elsewhere much more. It makes you appreciate it when you do go there.

There are some great cadwell and oulton park deals this year and there only 4 hours drive away max.

disappointing IMO. When will they realise that turning away their core support by increasing charges will loose them money? They may say, "insurance costs, " or, "upkeep costs," but they can't get those costs paid if no-one turns up!

What annoys me is the Hot Hatchers get 6 hours for £40! They may get more people but i know what id rather watch! Plus its their fault the insurance went up and they cause more damage.....

It's a local track that I can get to for evening sessions without taking time off work and has the all important noodle bar in close proximity.

It will also be the track that I do most of my racing on (if and when I get round to doing it) for the first few seasons.

I'll keep going for the mean-time

That's the fact KH misses. Cheaper prices = more attendees! Limit the places to however many they need to for safety, and job's a carrot! You'd easily get as many Hot Marques cars there as they do hot chav if the proces were comparable IMO. If not - cogent reason why?

Hot Hatch days are sessioned. IIRC it's something like 15mins in the hour that you are on track.

I'm not convincied that cheaper prices = more attendees when your dealing with folk who have prestige cars. They are probably working more on the fact that if you can afford the car then you can afford to pay a bit more.

Personally speaking (and I'm not in a position where money doesn't matter) I'd rather pay extra for a quieter track.

You also have to set a price which keeps away the riff-raff. We had an issue a few years ago when some Hot Hatchers club together and bought a Scooby - if my memory serves me correct the hit or narrowly missed collecting Uldis.

Yeah i guess thats a fair point mac. But when you compare prices to other tracks it just becomes a joke IMO.

Anyone know if they sell spectator tickets at HH days? and if so how much are they? :?

think they are about £7 or so for spectator tickets.

It's also worth checking prices against other Trackday organisers and not just LOT days
