You'll need to explain that.
And I wouldn't even class that as a song it's so terrible!

I'm not a big fan of dance music - but QFX's front man is/was Kirk the elise/VX220 driver from SE1 days.

I'm new here so I may have got the mood of the place wrong, but I've always liked Prince - Let's Go Crazy

Dearly beloved
We are gathered here today
2 get through this thing called life

Electric word life
It means forever and that's a mighty long time
But I'm here 2 tell u
There's something else
The afterworld

A world of never ending happiness
U can always see the sun, day or night

So when u call up that shrink in Beverly Hills
U know the one - Dr Everything'll Be Alright
Instead of asking him how much of your time is left
Ask him how much of your mind, baby

'Cuz in this life
Things are much harder than in the afterworld
In this life
You're on your own

And if de-elevator tries 2 bring u down
Go crazy - punch a higher floor

If u don't like the world you're living in
Take a look around u
At least u got friends

U see I called my old lady
4 a friendly word
She picked up the phone
Dropped it on the floor
(Sex, sex) is all I heard

Are we gonna let de-elevator
Bring us down
Oh, no Let's Go!

Let's go crazy
Let's get nuts
Let's look 4 the purple banana
'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!

We're all excited
But we don't know why
Maybe it's cuz
We're all gonna die

And when we do (When we do)
What's it all 4 (What's it all 4)
U better live now
Before the grim reaper come knocking on your door

Tell me, are we gonna let de-elevator bring us down
Oh, no let's go!

Let's go crazy
Let's get nuts
Look 4 the purple banana
'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!

C'mon baby
Let's get nuts
Yeah
Crazy

Let's go crazy

Are we gonna let de-elevator bring us down
Oh, no let's go!
Go crazy

I said let's go crazy (Go crazy)
Let's go, let's go
Go
Let's go

Dr. Everything'll be alright
Will make everything go wrong
Pills and thrills and dafodills will kill
Hang tough children

He's coming
He's coming
Coming

Take me away!

I personally think Meatloaf's "Bat out of Hell" should be an Elise Theme song. Not for the lyrics but because of the title which is often the first thing somebody says when asked what they thought of their run (passenger or driver) in an Elise/Exige

The fact that it genuinely adds to the performance of an Elise is an added bonus as I proved when I switched on "Bat out of hell" and broke my Kames Sprint record by 1 second. My fastest laps at Knockhill and Crail were also with "Bat out of hell" playing. These days its on my iPod to help me beating all the youngsters racing round an ice rink (for a couple of laps anyway  )

I am still with Ali in that I think "Freedom" is a feel good song which has a Scottish Elise connection and the basic lyrics are all about wanting to be free and surely that's what we want when we drive. To be free of other traffic, speed cameras, Police, Caravans, roadworks, bad weather etc. As to it being a gay dance tune I don't know what a gay dance tune is, but then I suppose it would take a gay dancer to be able to tell what a gay dance tune was

Anyone into Wolfmother? Have just downloaded their album it is great. I will be listening it on my way to Murrayfield shortly hopefully to see Scotland crush the Leeks and Daffodils of Wales.

Right.

I still think "Midnight" by RHCP - great sounding driving track and has the word "lotus" in the chrous, referring to us as "the lotus kids". Also, the versus are very applicable to the lotus driving experience.

I challenge any of you to find a decent alternative with all those components, which is why I created this thread in the first place!!

Over to you......

Lyrics are appropriate in this song I thought, after hearing it at the weekend.

"I'm heading back
to the north country
With the cold wind in my eyes
I'll be there by sunset
Before the first snow flies

Rustlin' leaves
on the ground
A cold rain coming down
Sleeping there on
the dark, damp earth
For what it's worth
no reason can be found
no it can't be found

Rustlin' leaves on the ground
A cold hard rain coming down
I'll remember now and then
But don't ask when
I'll be back again
I'll be back again"

Obviouslly reffering to driving with the roof off, due to the "cold wind in my eyes" bit. Getting to the north "before sunset" and "sleeping on the damp earth" obviouslly refer to campaganza trips, and "rustlin' leaves on the ground" reffers to sweeping up the leaves runs.

Bits have been snipped out, but a virtual prize to anyone who can name the tune. :D
