Worst Car You've Driven?
Citreon Xsara Picasso. Hire car with work. The last one had been a new Astra, which I really didn't like (especially those stoopid indicators!), so I demanded something different . . . wish they'd just given me the Astra!
The Citreon was like driving a bus, and that wasn't just because I was used to the Elise. The steering was so light with no feel at all, and it rolled all over the place. I also hated the off-centre digital speedo. Clarkson's always making jokes about us taking our eyes off the road and crashing because we're trying to check our speed for the scameras . . . with an off-centre speedo, well away from the driver's field of vision, you have to take your eyes off the road for longer to check your speed. Stupid gimicky design!

2009 Mini Cooper, Midnight Black
2008 Elise S, Solar Yellow

The Picasso has to be one of the UGLIEST cars on the road. I feel as if it's an insult having to look at them. Also, I really hate any cars with a central speedo, especially where you just have a plane bit of grey plastic ahead of the driverdezzy wrote:Citreon Xsara Picasso. Hire car with work. My astra is old enough not to have stoopid indicators.

I learned to drive in a 1965 Series 2A Landrover 88, with a 3L Perkins Diesel engine, as the sales man told my Dad when he bought it, “it’s a very popular motor for fishing boats“. No synchromesh, steering which would have tested Pop Eye’s forearms, no breaks to speak of, zero visibility and a top speed of (I kid you not) 45 Tuts. Just to finish off the assault on the senses it was so loud that you could not drive it without ear defenders.
But it did have a certain eccentric charm.

I do have fond memories of it. Certainly learnt a thing or two about fixing cars.
Was glad of it the day a Ned in a fiesta drove into my front driver side wheal at traffic lights. He hit the hub dead centre and his car looked like a Coke can that had been stamped on. I go the handle from the big hydraulic jack, stuck it under the track rod and stood on it to straighten the track rod enough to get home. Fiver for a new track-rod end and a bit more straightening and it was good as new. Not even worth making an insurance claim.
Happy days.

have driven a few of the "worst cars" category, when i was in india
fiat - premier padmini http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Spee ... 42/pad.jpg
hindustan - ambassador (morris)
http://www.philseed.com/images/1973%20H ... India).jpg
maruti - 800 (almost suzuki alto)

tata - indica (rover city)

and the winner i think is the ambassador. that car is like a tank. doesnt move fast.. but when it picks up speed... understeer & oversteer & no-steer & every other problem u can think of and cant think of. i did hear... the new versions r far better!
