Just one,
"Would you mind if I brought a mate of mine over to have a look at it, they work for Lotus in Sighthill"
That's if it's still there - for all we know Pauline might be there already with someone from the garage

Is the chassis straight?
Has it been written off?
Servicing on mileage or age - what services has it had?
Why's the front clam so clean and new looking (it should have chips)
Has it ever had a head gasket go?
Then wonder why a trader is selling it for peanuts....

1 more question, ask if its had the red clutch hose replaced for a braided one.
Other than that, I'm pretty gutted at the price - lookie at me avatar! I see whoever owned that one before has invested in the driving lamps and clear front indicators - looks just like a 111s from the front!

Greg,
Why? You bought from a dealer and from the time I saw it got a car in great nick with full history and a dealer warranty. No surprises/worries/dealer facilities etc.
The 7k one is still a complete unknown. You get what you pay for as I'm sure we`ll find out with the 7k one (though it could be a good buy) who knows.....
I looked at two before buying mine that were total nails, were in shagged condition and needed a lot of work. Im glad I spent more and got a good one.

I agree entirely - my guttedness stems from the re-sale value! Still, didn't buy it to sell on, so won't loose any sleep over it - just surprising how prices are falling. My money's on something being wrong with it for that price though!

I've seen quite a few "heaps" too.
There was one in Glasgow being sold by a "trader" - shut lines were all wrong (some off them even lined up!) Difference make of tyre in each corner and lot of other wee things that just didn't add up to a looked after car.
Cheers

Said this in another thread but the VX board has had tonnes of newbies on it in the past few weeks and cars are selling again. I'm assuming the same thing will happen to Lotuses.
With that S1 you really have to question how fooked it would have to be for £7k to be a rip off.............assuming its not Cat D
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.
....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

I was more thinking along the lines of a personal purchase, as I'm sure that Pauline wouldn't resort to those kind of tatics. Graeme on the other hand.......
(Only joking Graeme, in all my vast experience with car sales your one of the best)

He will have a t&c saying something along the lines of I reserve right to withdraw car at any time.
I guessed the location as being Edinburgh from the Phone No malky so I doubt the two locations are anything sinister.
It doesnt say anything about being damaged repaired in the Ebay ad so maybe it is a genuine bargain for someone.

But why is it down as "Kings Motors" on auto trader, and "Autopoint" on ebay? hmmm
