Yes, i believe that is the ring land and is prone to breaking on the K series.

That ring should be smooth (as should the whole thing - see the pitting!). Also if you look in the back ground you can see more damage! look at the difference !

There are quite a few bits missing actually!

I don't think you want to rebuild that - it'll turn into a saga, expensive one at that, and then will fail again anyway.

Have you decided which route to go down on the engine front yet?

Dan must have a couple of ex-conversion customer engines lying around ...
