330d M sport tourer, this one

ttp://dealerservices.autotrader.co.uk/1397/sunny.htm

Was nice to drive and has some poke about it (even more once you chip them 250bhp and almost 500n/m) . I was not sure about the automatic/ triptronic box but its fairly smooth and has made me think twice about getting a manual. Handling was what you would expect for a M sport, but it was wet so didn’t really push it ;o)

Think I will keep looking for a higher miler one about the 10-12k.

They are classified as one of the most powerful "standard" Evo's but the FQ-360 is seemingly more driveable due to less turbo lag.

As Big-D said you can get a GT (which does not have the some of the mod cons of other Evo's) and easily take it to 400+. Friend of mine has done this an he has had a variety of Evo's. Even a 260 can be taken up to 320-385 mark with a couple of modes. Couple of mods done on my FQ-330 an it puts out 385 :D

There are as many variants of Evo as there are Elise's and it can get a little bit confusing so reading up and asking other owners will let you know which model to pick.

Do not know where you are based but as I am also a member of MLR (Mitsubishi Lancer Register)
http://www.lancerregister.com I have one of their magazines which gives you the various varieties and explanation of them if it would help you.

I would be scared to ask on the MLR forum but are they any good for occasional towing? I'm thinking lightweight, trailer plus load of <1200kg...

Can you get a towbar???

Perfect car for towing. My mate uses his for the mountain bikes and his trail bikes.

You can get a kit from Whiteline.

I can also add that whatever you do, don't put a roof rack on them as my mountain bikes dissapeared off mine when popping down to Glentress.
(So going to get a tow bar next year)

I think in a review of the Evo X the engineers at Mitsubishi said that was their favourite incarnation of the Evo :D
They hold their value really well, too well infact. Still fetching around £15k when you can get an VIII for similar money.

More of a collectors/polishers car now. Too good to thrash round a track.
D and I were talking about this in the boozer the other week - My fav evo is also the Tommi Mak. By what D says, the parts fitted to that car make it ideal for a good track thrashing.. sad irony that its the preserve of the garage jewellery owning b*stard :o

Can't agree more, Western Mitsubishi in Edinburgh once had an Evo owned by Tommi Mak as his company car. Think it was a VI in black with a whole bunch of mods on it. One careful owner !!!

Are they the same as Dixons of Dunblane? I contacted them earlier in the year when they had a similar car for sale. The sales guy couldnt have been less helpful on the phone and it was only when I asked to arrange to view and test drive for later in the week that he told me the car wasn't actually in the country yet but he could try to source a similar one for me. :? All sounded a bit odd

Also got a load of cheek from the sales man, needless to say I never bought a car from them.

I'm sorry, I like the Evo, but I'd feel an utter cock driving that about
